PSUs don't just blow out of the blue, there must be something really serious... like an overload? My bet is that the cpu had nothing to do it with it unless there was less juice in the psu to provide enough power for those overclocks in the first place; this is 45nm afterall.

I'd be worried about what version of bios comes on that IP35, if you are buying it new and have no older cpu at home.
