    3. ArctiClean cleaner and purifier
    4. Tuniq TX-2 thermal paste
    5. Two 120mm x 120mm x 38mm Sanyo Denki San Ace 109R1212H1011
    6. 120mm x 120mm x 25mm Zalman ZM-F3 ----> So, why this and not just another San Ace? This test shows this one's quieter than the Sanyos, and since it's going to be in the front (intake), where I am closer, I prefer a more quiet solution.
    7. Sunbeam RHK-BA fan controller
    8. PC anti-vibration kit
    9. 92mm rubber fan silencer
    10. Two 120mm rubber fan silencer

So, what do you think? Looks like I'm up to the challenge?

As soon as this arrives and I assembly it, I'll report back with information about the fans noise and performance.

    Thank you very much.
I was under the impression you only wanted two San Aces

And it goes to lower RPM/CFM...at 5V the San Ace is at like 55CFM, and that's basically it's floor since 'nailing' 4-4.5V with a rheobus is very tough.

And the Rheobus Extreme looks very interesting....hmmmm

So, another San Ace for the intake? That Zalman can just go for backup...

Nah, Zalman is fine very quiet fan that moves a good bit of air...not worth the extra $ to get a better fan that won't add any benefit as an intake.

I use Yates for case fans and San Aces as heatsink fans...fwiw.

im runnin 4 D12SL-12 for case fans and 3 San Ace for my radiator based on Vapor's recommendation and couldn't be happier Out of curiousity Vapor, what fan do you use for blowholes? IIRC, according to the review yates are sleeve bearing meaning they aren't recommended for vertical (best word i can think of atm lol) use correct?

The place where I was going to buy the San Ace was out of stock. The only place where I found it in stock only had one.

So, what do you suggest me now? Intake and exhaust a Zalman ZM-F3, and San Ace the for the heatsink (Thermalright Ultima-90)?

I must ask, but I cent seem to find many 120mm fans with green LEDs. The only fan I found in your review that has green is the Zalman Zm-F3.

Do you have any other recommendations for green LED fans? And also, have you ever tested 80mm fans? I use 3x 80mm in my case now, it would be nice to get a good review on them too
I want to make my computer quieter, its really loud now.

Not for nothing, but that's the ZM-F3GL...uses a different plastic and will have different characteristics.

Again, haven't tested any...BUT, if you want quieter, the surefire way is to get slower fans.

have you tried these ? i tested the 80mm acryan blackfire4 and they are really quiet. Strangely the 120mm aren't quiet. I don't think the specs are accurate.

Can anyone tell me whether the 80mm Zalman ZM-F1 is on par with its big brother, the ZM-F3? I'm mostly concerned with noise.

Which should i use for Chieftec 620W power supply
    Scythe 120 x 120 x 25 mm Minebea,1,600rpm ,27.0dBA , 63.6CFM
    or
    Scythe S-Flex 120mm 1200rpm 20,1dba
No higher rpm s-flex is sold in Estonia. But Will the 1200rpm fan be enough powerful to cool the PSU down? It has Q6600@3.2ghz and G80 8800GTS sucking its power. Like i understand, Noctua<Scythe in this case?
Has anyone tried the LED Scythe fan

    Well i bought a Scythe S-Flex 120mm 1600rpm.
Performance and silent wise is almost identical to my Papst 4412 F/2 GL
    testing on ~1000rpm.

in a case of the PSU cooling i would go for the s-flex for silence. minebea for performance since there is no higher rpm s-flex available for you.

Hi, I just bought a bunch of these 120x120x38mm Sanyo Denki San Ace thermally controlled fans. Can I disable the thermal mechanism in any way? Would simply connecting them to a rheobus overwrite the thermal control?

Fan power lead H speed, +red, -black
    Control lead, brown
Fail-safe The motor runs fast when the thermistor is
    unable to detect the temperature
(in cases such as an open circuit or short-circuit)

You have to join the brown wire to the black wire to get it to run full blast. a switch for the brown wire so that it goes to ground when you switch it on should work.

Cool, I figured there'd be a way to short the thermal device... I'll try it out as soon as I get em. Thanks .

Too bad this test doesn't include a reliability factor.

After seeing my buddies computer completely full of dust so thick with nicotine, and whatever else, then putting my hand near it to see his Antec's still pushing massive amounts of air reliably and silently I'm sold...

The fans themselves had a thick layer of grime/dust/nicotine on them and was running like it was new... I was flabbergasted.
I picked some up myself and I'm quite happy with them.
Myself a technician, through experience, I've learned reliability is key in almost everything you buy. But thats just my opinion...

As you can see from my join date, long time lurker, first time poster.
