Thanks very much for the review Vapor! However, I fully blame you for putting the 1011's out of stock at both ThermalFX and FrozenCPU! For shame! I'll get mine one day...

Someone posted about the new F12-N/38 San Ace... any word on this fan? New? Same? Better? Worse? Can't seem to find anywhere to buy it outside of Japan.

About 3 years ago I bought a box of 20 Sanyo Denkis off ebay (109R1212H1011) for something like $45.

I knew it was worth it!

    OMG,
10 Noctua fans in a rig?! Can we see pictures of them in action?

Thanks for your hard work and organized composition of the results, Vapor. I've been wondering about the Sanyo Denki fans I purchased back in 2005 from another XS member and now I can very happily incorporate them into a new build.

FrozenCPU have removed the Sanyo Denki's from their catalogue

I had planned on ordering some and had them in my cart when they were in stock. However, I was waiting on the availability on another part and by the time that was in stock, the fans were no longer in stock. Ah well, such is life.

I've been admin for like a year

For Noctua you mean P12? No clue...

They're not exactly comparable fans though....San Ace at 5V is like the P12 at 12.5V

    * KaOSoFt summons Vapor *

    Hello.

This was a pretty nice review of fans. Hell nice, indeed. I'm looking forward for some Noctua NF-P12 comparisons.

I'd like some advice about a setup.

I'm planning on getting a Thermaltake Tsunami. I'm still trying to decide if I should choose the one with the side-panel fan, or the one without it. I don't know if it's sucking air, or blowing it out. Which model do you recommend me for good airflow? Do you think I should change that fan? For which one?

Now, the real question lies in the fact I want to change the 120mm fans already in the case (front intake, and rear exhaust), but I still don't know which ones should I choose. From what I read here, the San Ace are awesome, and scale gracefully to undervolting. To me, the fans in the case I'm using right now are already at 40dBA, so those decibels are not a problem to me.

So, what do you think? Two San Aces 1011 are good for case airflow, or should I better use them for sandwhiching my Thermalright Ultima-90?

Please, give me some advice here:

    1) Two good case fans.
    2) Two fans with good static pressure for a push-pull configuration on my Thermalright Ultima-90.

Thank you in advance. Thanks a lot.

PS: Any good fan controller that I can use and it's available in USA? Thank you.

EDIT: Oops, sorry, I had not noticed you had the same thread in a proper air cooling section. If an administrator can move my post there, please do so. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=170224

I don't really know much about the Tsunami...especially the internals, but what I think I'd do after a quick look is put a San Ace pushing on the Ultima-90 (pointing toward the rear) and have the rear exhaust also be a San Ace. Then have every other fan be intakes, especially the side fan near the CPU. This will have an effective push/pull but also help with the case airflow.

    An anemometer and shrouding.

Really whatever you want...Zalmans are pretty damn good and a low price, S-Flex are a little more $ but also really good, Yate Loons are little less money. I'd probably undervolt any of them to around 55CFM each...since you'll 'only' have 105CFM + PSU exhaust.

That's where my fan controller question in the first post kicks in!

Oh, and by the way, do you happen to know a pretty good 9cm (good noise/performance ratio, if possible) fan? If I can get a better than case's, I'd be more happy.

Thanks, and sorry if I sound like too newbie... I most certainly am!

Most people like the Sunbeam....nice clean voltage and up to 20W per channel. Plus it's simple looking

Alright, I already ordered, now I'm just waiting for the components to arrive:

    1. Thermaltake Tsunami VA3000BWA
    2. Thermalright Ultima-90 heatsink
    3. ArctiClean cleaner and purifier
    4. Tuniq TX-2 thermal paste
    5. Two 120mm x 120mm x 38mm Sanyo Denki San Ace 109R1212H1011
    6. 120mm x 120mm x 25mm Zalman ZM-F3 ----> So, why this and not just another San Ace? This test shows this one's quieter than the Sanyos, and since it's going to be in the front (intake), where I am closer, I prefer a more quiet solution.
    7. Sunbeam RHK-BA fan controller
    8. PC anti-vibration kit
    9. 92mm rubber fan silencer
    10. Two 120mm rubber fan silencer

So, what do you think? Looks like I'm up to the challenge?

As soon as this arrives and I assembly it, I'll report back with information about the fans noise and performance.

    Thank you very much.
