    MKM, it is normal for the temperature to fall that quickly. It means you have good cooling! Your vNB and FSB Termination voltages look a touch high, too. Can you dial back on vCore?
    Will be posting my settings soon...

    34 idle should easily hit mid 60s imho

    Going to pick the sweet chip and sell the other on ebay
    Not yet, with my crappy gfx card, I don't even want to bother; if you guys want I can run cpu test alone.

    Is that CPU-Z reading vCore correctly?

    60 load @ H2O probably means I won't get that high, but it's good to see it haul arse on this board.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks quad -> E8400 isn't crazy. My wife gets my QX6700, since I lapped it & would probably get jack on eBay, but you did well! Thank god for n00bz.

    I would be interested in the CPU only score if its not a bother

    Hi. I got your PM. Here is what I have in BIOS and Everest:

    ***EDIT: Oops, that's for 3.6. If you look in my sig & click on my "3.83GHz", it's actually a link to my CPU-Z. 3.83 was just too hot for everyday.

    Hello boys,

    I finally bought this beautiful board... It works perfectly when not overclocked, but I am having some issues when I try to overclock.

    My rig:

    ASUS Maximus Formula (nonSE)
    Intel C2D E8200
    4x1GB GeIL Ultra PC6400
    2x250GB Seagate 7200.10 410AS
    Sapphire HD3870
    XFi Xtreme Gamer Fatality Pro

    I temporary use BOX cooling, becouse my XP-120 is on RMA (it wasn't recieved with LGA cip)... But even at 3.6GHz the temps are good.

    If all the settings are set to AUTO, everything works perfectly, but if the voltages are set manually, it goes wrong and tells me the error. And even if I set RAM settings to manual, it shows BSOD when loading Windows. To get to Win I have to set everything to AUTO, just Vcore is set to 1.300V, LC Enabled and RAM to 2.26V.

    Hope, the problem is in RAM, is that possible? (If the Vram is lower, than 2.2V, it doesn't boot at all.)

    Thanx guys for same ideas.

    If you are using 4x1 g dual channel memory the chance is that you must give the memory 2.35v and/or increase the NB voltage. The 4x1 configuration is putting a heavy load on the northbridge, so increase that voltage to.

    Edit. will not even boot with the settings. gets stuck DET RAM. i even increased th ddr2 volt 2.20v 5-5-5-15 no good.

    the funny thing is that will do 400 x 9 (3.6ghz) but not 410 x 9 (3,690 mhz) blue screen
    on the other hand just try to loosen up my mem timmings and can do 460 x 8 at 1.5Vcore

    The following settings working ok, this is just a 10 increase on the FSB based on my previous settings running 3.6Ghz for few months now.
    Again i am not able to pass that thus the reson of this post

    I am pretty pissed off that the only mem divider that works after 475fsb is the 333 strap 5:6 which means you need ram that can do 1200mhz+ just to get over 500fsb. not even 1:1 works!

    Asus better fix this!

    I have the same problem the ram wont work at 1:1 so if i put fsb on 500 the ram needs to work at 1000mhz but it doesnt. It boots if i set transaction booster on relax 7. The ram is very stable at 400fsb---> 400 strap 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 2.0 volt.

    Anyone got any suggestions for this problem?

    Got a E8400 the other day currently running it at 9x445 on the 400 strap,ive tried running it at 8x500 but the board is having none of it and wont boot into windows.

    my memory is rated upto 500 so thats not a problem and with my E6600 on the old 0505 bios i had it running at 7x500 and that wasnt a problem.

    Using the 0903 bios at the moment,also my board isnt displaying the correct idle temps either with asus probe,speedfan or coretemp.

    One last thing is the 0907 still the latest bios?

    Have you tried the 5:6 divider?

    I'm currently testing 8x500 @ 4ghz on the 333 strap.

    RAM = 1200
    Static Read = Auto
    Trans Booster= Auto
    AI Clock Twister = Auto
    Vcore = 1.240v (load) You may need more - set 1.3 and step down gradually
    CPUVLL=1.50v This is the most crucial in imho; I clocked my cpu all the way to 4.86Ghz without touching this. Soon as I raise it to 1.52v, system won't post. So watch out for that.
    NB = 1.49v
    Vdimm = 2.26v (2.3v real)
    VFSB = 1.50v
    SB = 1.100v
    Loadline Calibration = Enabled (If you have done the pencil mod, I suggest you wipe it clean when you enable this, otherwise you may experience random boots and general instability).
    SB 1.5 = 1.60v

    Hope this helps.

    Oh, I have to add, this is really a great board. This board really shines with 45nm hardware. :P

    That's some nice RAM bandwidth, Zucker! I wonder if I can hit 1200MHz on 4x1 if I loosen to 5-5-5-15... it wasn't possible on my P5N32-E, but 4x1 seems a lot less temperamental on this board.

    I can't wait to get my hands on my 8400... your screenies aren't helping, LOL! I hope it gets here by the weekend.

    I dont understand. 545fsb with 1:1 E6600 and ddr400 below.

    All settings auto but Vcore and Vram OCCT is running just to show its not a suicide run. I dont think my ddr400 ram would pass memtest at this speed but did pass at 533 1:1.

    Try 1.6Vnb, and what are your nb temps? I leave the Vnb on auto and the mb puts it at the right spot for fsb. How are you cooling the nb? I am running an 80cfm fan on the nb giving 33C at 1.71Vnb at 545fsb.My mb does not like the 333 strap and runs better with it on auto giving 400 strap I think.

    Also what is the booster and twister settings at?

    Raise these:

    DRAM = 2.16v
    NB = 1.55v
    VFSB = 154v

    You may want to check that vcore too; it seems over the top for 4Ghz.

    You're running a 500fsb, 1:1 divider, I suggest you run cas 4 timings, may be 4-4-4-12-30.

    Are you able to post at all with the earlier settings?

    Also what is the booster and twister settings at?
    44c,i`ll try raising it to 1.6

    booster and twister setters are all on auto.

    Still no luck,everytime i try for 500 when i hit save & exit i just get "det dram" showing on the lcd poster and nothing happens.

    The vcore i have might seem alittle high but anything less and i get BSOD`s.

    Could you try the 5:6 divider? That would put you at DDR2 1200

    FYI, those G.Skill won't POST at CAS4 for any reasonable speed. They don't like aggressive overclocks, either. Even though recommended voltage was 2.0-2.1, I always run mine between 2.1 and 2.25 with no problem. I haven't had to return them yet while in the meantime, I've fried four sticks of Ballistix.

    The seem to really like speeds between 1000 and 1100. On this board, I've only run them at 12:10 and capped out at 1008 before I switched them out for the Ballistix. They seemed too touchy. Maybe you have some other RAM you can try 500FSB with?
