Does enyone know if the screw holes on Maximus Formula is the same as Maximus Formula SE? Because I read on EK's homepage about the "EK-NB S-MAX Acetal", "NB chipset block for ASUS Maximus SE!", so i'm a bit unsure if it will fit. Can anyone confirm?
EK's EK-NB S-MAX Acetal block will also fit the Maximus forumla non-SE too.
Order it from petras to receive faster sirvice.

Is there any more difference between them more than the waterblock?
I will order from chilledpc.co.uk when they get it in stock. The block seems to be sold out everywhere...
I think the only difference between them is the version number on the boards, and that the SE has blocks.
The SE's are 1.02G

Its getting a bit on the long side of the postal range now.
I suggest you email eddie and tell him it hasn't arrived. He'll respond positively. You can always return it if it does turn up.
I've had one package go astray from him and it was at the 4 week mark I contacted him about it not arriving. No issue. He sent another that day. Took 3 weeks for the second. Missing one never did show up.
Yes, I might have to send another one, but on Jan 9th I sent this:
Question::
Hi Eddy, I have my order showing as being sent out the door on Nov 20th. (I was the one that lost 27 days previous to that with my PayPal lesson, being a unregisterd transaction) We did get that issue resolved. One on the boys on the board that lives in Maine had his order sent out the door from EK on the 21'st, and has received it 4 or 5 days ago. I still have yet to receive mine in Ohio. Could you check for me one more time that my order did leave EK on the 20th, and that it was sent to the following address:
Scott XXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXX, Ohio XXXXX
If there is a tracking number on this order I would appreachiate it. I have already called my local Post Office today (Dec 8th) and they have verified no registered mail is waiting for me, nor is there anything to be delivered today. I am beginning to get consirned again as others are receiving their orders from EK, that ordered after me.
Thanks Scott

Hi!
Your order was sent dec. 20th.
So this is normal.
But should be with you in few days.
4-5 days shipment to US is not possible, as far as I know.
Best regards, Eddy

I think me and Eddy count days differently.
If I do get my order re-sent, I am going to request that Petras sends it to me...
I really can't take setting the clock back to day 1 again...

Yeah thats what I meant, this weekend its 4 weeks.
Think the Petra's thing is unlikely to work out, unless you bought one from them and resold the other.
Good luck anyway, buddy. Its friday night here, so you're either about to get it or go over 4 weeks.
Thanks Jedda,
My little spirit is getting kind if sick on the matter to be honest. I am going to hold out a few more days.
The other 2 things in the order were the CPU backplate and some thermal pads.
I have ordered the Pro Mount kit from Petras so i don't even need the backplate anymore.
I will cutt my loss and consider it an official boneing in a few more days. Then I will only order from Petras from now on...
My wife is giving me a hard time now too. She is looking at over 4 grand of parts, but no working computer. I keep telling her that I need a NB block, but she thinks I just wasted all my money. The story worked for a while, but that time has come and gone a while back...
Lesson learned.
I can only recomed EK's blocks, not their delivery method to it's US customers.
It appears to be untrackable, even thow it's Priority mail and requires a signiture when it arrives at my house... ??
I find that odd.
My order was $67.84 USD with delivery.
I may call Visa or PayPal and ask for it back.
Does PayPal or Visa offer any protection for goods paid for that never arrive, and can't be tracked?
The MIP NB block is looking better and better to me every day...

Don't think Visa or PP do much.
But he's as unhappy as anyone else about the shipping and has made sure I got what I'd payed for without paying any more. Just use honey not vinegar.
Yeah, I know what you mean about a pile of bits and a story. It gets old fast.
Good luck, you're due some.
Thanks again... I will wait for a few more days, and hope for the best.

I feel for ya bud! My block was shipped 12/5. The new top was shipped 12/22. I had the top and had no block as of 1/3/08. I went on vacation and when I got back there was a final notice in my mail box saying the package would be returned on 1/12. I picked up the notice on 1/13. I phoned the post office on the morning of the 14th and caught the package before it was returned. Registered mail always gives 3 notices 1 week apart. I guarantee I never got the first 2 which should have put arrival at my post office around 12/22. I really don't think your post office would look for or be able to find your package without the tracking number. It's right under the bar code on the shipping box. Why EK doesn't provide the customer with this number after the order is shipped is beyond me!!! It can't be traced by either party without it. My post office wouldn't look for it till I provided the number on the notice left by the postman. I 2nd your recommendation for no more direct orders in the US unless EK switches to DSL or another shipper which can be tracked.

So your block left EK on 12/5 and arrived at the post office around 12/22. My god, that is only 17 days. I am screwed for sure then. Dec 20th will be a full 30 days for my re-order.
I can't believe there is a tracking number!! That is what I spacifically asked EK for and was not provided. Do you think they don't even record it? mabey that is why it was not provided....??
I thought after making it clear to EK that I already lost 27 days the first time, I would have gotten the red carpet treatment. My worst fear is due to my unuasual method of selecting money order, and eddy verifying that he had now received my complete order, he then impowered sombody else to complete it. Then in the shuffle, my order was lost again.
Another disturbing thing is Eddy told me that they get allot of unregistered transactions from Paypal customers who don't know to click 'return to merchant', after completeing the paypal section, and getting the conformation that the transaction was approved from Paypal. If they get allot of unregistered transactions like mine, mabey the web designer might want to take a look at that. How many other peoples orders have gone into the black hole of never never land? Due to me living in the US, I bit the bullet and kept riding the clock out. If I only knew the order was never completed properly at EK's end, I could have saved the first 27 day block of time from being a total loss.
Thanks for the post, and your story too.
What state do you live in?
I just sent EK another message and asked for my tracking number ASAP.
My stomach hurts, I think I need to go puke.

It may be a postal thing but I'd bet money the number is on EK's shipping receipt! It's there plain as day. Mine was "RR 76573 002 5 SI" That should have been included in the e-mail saying it was shipped. Doh!!! I can't say for sure my post office had it since the 22nd. Hell, I was never notified they had it till the 5th. The new top and O'ring arrived in about 10 days or less. Go figure!
I made the same mistake. I got an e-mail from EK saying I should have clicked "return to merchant" yet they got the money anyway and my order was not delayed for that. I can only assume a US postal service screw up.
I'm in California. I doubt that makes a difference though. I could be wrong but somehow the old memory banks are telling me only the sender gets to trace registered mail. Hopefully I'm wrong and with a shipping number the PO will be able to tell if your package even entered the US. ( Side note... I wasn't even told it shipped registerd mail. That was discovered when I saw the note in my mail box. )
Hope you get your block soon!!! I'll finally get to build my box this week. I'll report NB temp once OCed and stable.

Your initial order went into the Black Hole of Never Never land too!!!
Man O man...
At least you got an e-mail letting you know you made an unregistered Paypal transaction....
I had to contact them to get the news.
I will report if EK provides me with my tracking number.
I look foward to your NB temp report.

Thought I should add this clarification from Clunk's review as to why the HS is crooked.
"I concluded that the fugly fake copper wasn't going to look nice, so I set about fitting the trusty Thermalright HR-09U and HR-09S. These went on with a slight modification, very similar to the one I did for my P5K. If you are wondering why the top HR-09 has one end sticking up in the air, it's because the right hand side of it screws in place using the same screw and hole that secures the centre top of the motherboard as well, so, kill two birds with one stone!"
You can also page down and see the pics of installation and mod he used
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/revie...ng-review.html
Thanks for the post..
I am guessing that he had Type-1, not Type 2 HR-09's?
I believe the type 2 fit correctly, and use the MOSFET holes, not hole used to secure the mobo to the tray...

just a little update on a few things i was worryed about earlier:
if you remember my issue about the Mosfet bolcks, and how i didnt feel that they were making very good contact to the center Mosfet chips.
so far no problems to report. i have been playing around with my CPU voltages and am now stable at a VCore of 1.7125 (I've now got a "Crazy red LED" on the mobo ).
so if there was bad contact i dont think i would have got anyware near this voltage without seeing the dreaded "Blue Smoke" or a bunch of BSODs.
so im happy!
one issue that im not sure of exactly what happened...
when i started overclocking hard (the cpu now runs doubble the speed of stock ), one of my Ethernet Controllers stopped working! it said that "A cable is unplugged" but thanksfully theres two on the board and i just used the other one. but i have some further investigation to do on that.
