Those overclocks may not be representative of the wolfdales that arrive in europe, I think OBR is in Russia, and dinos22 lives in Australia,
they're getting very different results on retail wolfdales, within the next few weeks we will learn the true performances, ... I can wait.

BIOS 1.6 is having bad vdroop. I cannot downgrade to BIOS 1.1 with the Live Update utility, and booting from a floppy wont let me change to drive C.

I believe bios 1.6 is more accurate, which results in more vdroop.

I didn't have any vdroop according to my settings and a look at realtime voltage when i used bios 1.1. But when i checked the voltage with an multimeter i DID have vdroop. When i flashed the board with bios 1.6 the voltage measurement given by the board was identical with my measurements with my multimeter.

Dude, is this the distance between the pwm cooler mounting pins??? The cooler left of the socket by the backplate???

    And thank's for doing this!

there are 2 mounting holes for the pwm cooler, I re-measured the distance between those 2 holes from center to center It's exactly 6.6 cms, I measured from the back of the board.

I also measured the northbridge cooler mounting holes, again there are 2 mounting holes, the distance between them is exactly 5 cms measured center to center, from the back of the board.

Well, i have a nightmare with BIOS 1.6 and Platinum 1.6, the latter being so crappie on me that even at stock voltages/stock clocks. Orthos gives me errors after 3 seconds of running it. I tried a few voltage tweaks but i get the same Orthos erros.

I guess that's why many boards come with BIOS 1.1, it seems the best and as i see now it supports penryn too.

    Wolfdale pre-order UK prices (ETA = 21st Jan.2008)

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 = £204.44 inc VAT

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 = £144.51 inc VAT

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 = £129.24 inc VAT

these UK prices seem heavily marked up to me, the E8400 has a tray price of US $183 per thousand, in the UK we will be paying $283 for an E8400.
US pre-order price for the E8400 from TankGuys is just $209. That's big difference in markup! Actually I think Overclockers.co.uk are taking the piss
I expect we'll see the E8400 drop in price once the feeding frenzy is over.

I went back to BIOS 1.1, very stable again.

The main problem was that i received the wrong memory modules

    I ordered these ones: OCZ2RPR8002GK supposed to be DDR2 800 at 4-4-4-12.

But i couldn't do those timing, even ramping up the voltage, then i see Everest showing them as "OCZ2RPR8001G" at 5-5-5-15... oh well

when i power up my system, it shuts down within 2 seconds, and then start again and boots. I only have this above 3ghz, but 3.8ghz is rockstable. Someone else having this problem too?

Yep. Most Intel based boards do. It's better for FSB stability. It's the strap changing iirc.

What do you mean by "how to manually adjust voltages?"

have you tried going to bios options?

you should be able to do so under the Cell menu on the right hand side of the screen, Scroll down to bottom of the page and you should be able to adjust voltage values for vcore, dimm, cpu vtt and etc.

Once you select the voltage to adjust, use the + and - keys to go up or down in voltage.
