What fsb you guys can get on the X38T-dq6 with a quad 65nm? I'm trying hard to pass a stability test like CPUStress or Occt @475 and non go.
Utopia ?
DiKKeneK fan !!
How are people finding the DQ6 for clocking the qx9650? As I am considering buying one, thank you in advance![]()

As a side note, F7 official will not allow me to overclock my FSB to 425x8...all bios release upto F6b allowed this, not any longer.
So i am stuck at 378x9....same CPU speed but the multi won't allow the same memory clock speed and a lower FSB....which equals lower raw numbers.

welll after a fair bit of testing i concluded that only first release bioses are great and others are plagued with a fair few issues related to FSB OCing and RAM divider issues
if you are stuggling for some reason with your setups download F3 bios for DDR2 board or F2 bios for DDR3 boards and enjoy them

I'm having no problem oc'ing my E6750 with 450x8 as with the previous BIOS (betas or whatever). Haven't tried higher 'though. As soon as I change the stock intel cooler with a xigmatek or something like that, I'll try for some higher FSB speeds.
Cold boot bug is still there unfortunately, but only when hitting the case reset button. Not when restarting through windows. Not when switching off and on again. Not any other way. Just when using the case reset, which is really odd. Anyway, doesn't bother me much as I rarely use that button.
In the end, I must say that it is a really nice motherboard, stable as a rock while working/games/whatever and AFAIK, not even half-plagued with the problems most high-end ASUS boards have. This is my first Gigabyte board (I've had mostly ASUS and an Epox and a MSI before) and I'd buy Gigabyte again without thinking twice (but probably after reading a couple of reviews, just to be on the safe side, eheh...)
All in all, well done Gigabyte!

i am talking about extreme overclocking here
550/600+ FSB or whatever the max the chip can do
also the F2/F3 bioses have less RAM ratio bugs and clock memory higher (FOR ME)

i might think f7 is better than f3 cause i was still learning the board at f3 (and was making mistakes) also i swiftly upgraded to f6++ ect when i found the download locations.
so i would have to try earlier versions again now i'm more experienced to have a better idea if it is more suited to my components and over clocking ability. still everything seems o.k so im leaving it for a while.
I've finally figured out what was making my system unstable at ANY FSB with this board/memory. Its RAS# Precharge (which are connected to the All Precharge to Activate and All Precharge to Refresh delay settings in memset).
I have 2x1 Crucial Ballistix, wich will NEVER be stable at default speed 1066 on this board, no matter how loose timings and subtimings, and no matter the strap.
For this setup i use 2.00B, wich seems to allow the best Performance Level (TRD). I keep Performance Enhance at Standard in BIOS since it all really does is tighten Performance Level (TRD). I find its better to set it with memset.
With RAS# Precharge set to 6 or lower, OCCT will crash within 1 hour, usually after about 30 minutes.
I've also found Refresh Cycle Time and Refresh Period can be be set really tight without any loss of stability, and gives some extra performance as you can see from Everest. I keep FSB at +0.2 and MCH at +0.275 with active cooling.
I believe i can drop off a bit more on the vcore now that we have Loadline Calibration, (it DOES work, without loadline, droop is 0.4-0.5, with loadline, its 0.2).
Another setting that seemed to help me personally was to set the MCH clock skew to around 350ps. And DDR Termination to +50mV.
Hope this helps some of the others out there with Crucial Ballistix or other sticks that are a bit tough to get running straight with this board.
Again, like Ive said before, with only 1 of the sticks, i never have to consider any of these settings,- its only when i use both sticks in dual channel that default settings get unstable.
Pple are saying this bios is better that bios is better ? be more specific please ,are we talking quad core or duel core ? because that alone has massive ramifications.
And Dino's, not that many pple run extreme cooling haha ,90% of us run our PC at our overclock speeds 24/7.
So specifics are really what is going to help everyone .
Hey, is this with X38T DDR3 board right? And what CPU? For X38 DDR2 board you want to say that with F3 its posible to get 500++ FSB with Quad CPU?Looks like my chip wall is ~ 480, but outside is a winter, it can help boost it past 500+
For now Im using Q6600 @ 3.9Ghz for 24/7, looks stable, but maybe its possible more, when there will be volt mod or pencil mod for this board? Vdrop must be fixed, anyone?![]()

ThermalTake ToughPower 1200w, LG Flatron 20" L204WT Black, water on CPU + VGA and another stuff...
Very interesting. I cursed those sticks when they messed up my X38-DS5, but then put them in my 965P-DS3P - and they're doing quite fine, 4-4-4-12 @ 1075/2.3 V, I can live with that - and so can they, "blister-finger-test" says they're not too hot after 60min of Memtest.
A new Bios came out for the X38-DS5 (the day after mine started sulking) , so if I'll find the time I'm going to try to reanimate that board and then your infos will be very helpful.
