That sucks, perhaps you need a BIOS update or something as your CPU might be a binned QX9770 or QX9775. I'm hoping I don't have to wait that long.
It's really weird how a processor less than a few weeks later than the other one does not clock as well, back in the day it used to be the steppings which determined big differences. ie M0 vs D1 Northwoods or G0 vs B3 Core2Quad.
Q/C issues at Intel?

the idle temps at 4200 mhz with this coolit freezone elite are good but when i load the cores up with wPrime 1024M bench...it is on par with my TRUE...amazing, a $400 cooling system can't beat out the TRUE heatsink...hehehe

i can pump the mhz up to 4300 but it won't boot at 4400 mhz...it shuts down like an overtemp is occurring.
