I'm also having troubles with my TR HR-05/IFX. If mounted tight enough so that it won't wiggle easily, it bows the board enough to prevent booting. It's very loosely mounted for now, and keeping the NB down to 48c at 1.52v, so I expect it'll work great when it gets good thermal contact. And my SB with just the stock Asus heatsink, ROG cap removed, is still staying nice and cool, 40c max at 21c ambient.

I'm going to rig up a backplate for the HR-05 when I tear the system down again this weekend, need to drain the loop and trim some tubing, made it long to allow me to slide my 120-QP-RES out the front drive bay for filling and bleeding, but it's too long.

Well the MCW30 fits fine on my board... it is a tight fit, but works none the less.

As I said I'll give'em a try when I get them, but still I hope they will fit with EK Asus 3a mosfet blocks (which I have ordered at EK's).

ok at 3.8ghz and 1.5volt vcore unit is at -27C room temp is 26c at unit inlet.

on the water front the NB and SB temps are well wonder if there correct speedfan is showing

    system at 37c
cpu at -4c i know this is wrong
    aux at 19c
core 0 -7c i know this is wrong
core 1 -7c i know this is wrong

Okay i ran some tests of before my EK water block install and after. heres the numbers:
    -----------------------------------------
    CPU-z
    Before:

    After:

Pretty much the same, though just a hair less V-core this time around.
    -----------------------------------------
    Prime95 and CoreTemp Log File
    highest temps i could find...
    Before:

    After:

    -----------------------------------------
    Preme95 and SpeedFan Chart
    Before:

    After:

    -----------------------------------------
3D Mark and CoreTemp Log File
    highest temps i could find...
    Before:

    After:

    -----------------------------------------
3D Mark and Riva Tuner GPU Chart
    Before:

    After:

    -----------------------------------------

so you can see some temp drop
at least the EK blocks are not restricting and making temps worse

now i just need to test my NB. and im sure that is a lot cooler than it was stock

Do you have any idea what might be giving you the funky temps?

    Too bad they aren't accurate...

ok so the cpu and core temps are off due to the fact they are realy some where in the range of -27c to -32c so way low the 401 bios could read the cpu tem fine and said -32c the core temps are from the cpu and the temp probe can't read that low.

the system temp is and should be the temp in the air of the case at 37C it warm but ok due to every part is under water cooling. and 19C on the north bridge with high volt to it is good to

update on cpu speed was able to boot to windows a at 3.9ghz still have to fully tested though.

No 19°C on the Northbridge isn't just good, it is fantastic and to me it's another confromation that an aftermarket NB block, gives much better temps than the stock ROG block!

    BTW - 3.9Ghz is a nice OC!
I hope she turnes out to be stable for you.

You should note that you can only use thin-wall 1/2" tubing with their 1/2" compression fittings. You can also use 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD but it fits so snugly it will be frustrating and possibly damaging to get tightened or untightened. I really recommend 1/16" wall thickness tubing with Koolance 1/2" compression fittings which really limits your tube routing to large bends.

The 3/8" Koolance compression fittings are compatible with all 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD tubing.Cheers,-Chris.
Am I going to have a problem with my Tygon 1/2" R-3603 fitting into the EK's compression fittings on the NB block?

I see in posted that thin walled 1/2" line is better with compression fittings, or at least the koolance ones.

This is what your line would look like so far:

Reported temps using aftermarket blocks for contrast:
Aftermarket Block Member --- NB volts -- NB Loaded ----------- CPU ------------------- NB Block
    Creek Tha Gray ---------------- 1.50v ------- 19°C ------------- Q6600 @ 3.8GHz --------- EK S-MAX
    Nikhsub1 ---------------------- 1.52v ------- 25°C ------------- Q6600 @ 3.7GHz --------- MCW30

I need NB volts, CPU type and speed, and the biggie... A loaded NB temp.

Your 19°C temp was not loaded correct?

I want to see how high the aftermarket block will let your NB temp climb under a harsh load.

Just let me know when you are reporting your official numbers, and the chart will be updated with your data.

We need more Aftermarket block numbers to hit the chart ...

Mabey we should include the block type too in the aftermarket section?

    I think so...

Good question. I still can't normally find the NB temp on most posts of just screen shots!

I need it spelled out for me too, if they wan't it on the chart. (Somebody get us up to speed on that please.)

FYI - I moved our temp chart to the origional post in this thread too, in addition to it also being listed in the thread dedicated to the Stock ROG Cooling.

I figure we may be getting a few more 'aftermarket block' temps submitted, and we won't have to look for the other thread to see the chart updated.

As members submit their numbers, the originoal post will be updated...

Check it out... I found the color button! Too Flashey?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is our collection of LOADED NB temps reported my various members. I would like to see more aftermarket loaded NB temps hit the chart.
Please feel free to submit your data, and this chart will be updated.

Reported loaded NB temps using aftermarket blocks:
Aftermarket Block Member --- NB volts -- NB Loaded ----------- CPU ------------------- NB Block
    Creek Tha Gray ---------------- 1.61v ------- 20°C ------------- Q6600 @ 3.9GHz --------- EK S-MAX
    Nikhsub1 ---------------------- 1.52v ------- 25°C ------------- Q6600 @ 3.7GHz --------- MCW30

Reported loaded NB temps using the stock ROG cooling:
ROG Member ----- NB volts -- NB Loaded --------------- CPU ------------------
    Renegade5399 ---- 1.65v ------ 34°C ------------ Intel Core2Duo E6850 G0 @ 4GHz
    bill d ------------- 1.30v ------ 34°C ----------------------------- Q6600 Stock
    TheSamuri -------- 1.54v ------ 34°C ------------------------ Q6600 GO @ 3.9GHz (Reseated W/MX-2, was 48°C)
    ragge86 ---------- 1.65v ------ 36°C ---------------------------- Q6600 @ 3.8GHz
    NysoO ------------ 1.60v ------ 39°C ------------------------ Q6600 GO @ 3.6GHz
    BulldogPO -------- 1.65v ------ 40°C -24/7 QMC crunching clocks - Q6600 @ 3.8GHz
    DerekFSE ---- Green setting --- 40°C -------- Running Orthos ----- E6400 @ 3.6GHz
    giorgos th. ------- 1.47v ------ 41°C --------------------------- Q6600 @ 3.60GHz
    Aldy402 ---------- 1.63v ------ 43°C ----------------------- Q6600 G0 @ 3.825GHz (Was 62-65°C loaded on air)
    weescott --------- 1.74v ------ 43°C --------(Q9550 444x8.5) 1.49v 62c under load
    j0nnyr0773n ------ 1.54v ------ 44°C ------------------------- Q6600 GO @ 3.6GHz
    Clump ------------ 1.62v ------ 46°C (After 1HR or Prime 95) ----- Q6600 @ 3.6GHz
    raju -------------- 1.65v ------ 49°C (Prime95 Torture Temp) ----- Q6600 @ 3.6GHz

Note: After Raju remounted, max temp went down to 39°C
Note: Loaded NB temps over 47°C are prone to failures during longer Prime torture test runs.

If you go through the removal of the stock ROG cooling, and officially join the aftermarket club, it is my firm belief that you will be enjoying lower temps.
