i have 3.2 w/o any voltage increasing. I think it's too low frequency to raise voltage.
why I have to run 1.53v to get stable at 3.5
Obviously, the unsuccessful processor. What VID it has? Anything more than 1.275v do not reach greater results, on my supervision.
Does anyone knows what is the difference plugging single 4-pin power and 8-pin power
8pin allows to unload a little PSU and to raise stability as two lines of a 12V are used.
Now what is the best thing to test stability
    The best heating - Linpack.
    Prime - smallFFt.
    OCCT.
If errors are not present - all stably.

4.2 with crappy graphic card (it's a cruncher) and the other is in my 'main' rig and clocked to 4.4. I don't think it makes a difference.
With Q6600 all is a little differently.

So just look up linpack, prime, smallFFT, and OCCT.

So what voltage are you at on the cpu and memory?

How do I tell what Vid it is?

    Its a G0, batch L738B019, SLACR

U can see in bios - default voltage. Or use CoreTemp It shows too.
my is 1.2000v and it goes up to 4375mhz at 1.58v.

Ok, so I've been messing with this CPU for a couple days now. I was y with it at first, thinking, G0, SLACR, 3.6 easy. I booted it up at 465 x 8 1.52v in the bios, and it seemed fine, surfed the net for a couple hours, ran some Super Pi's I was pretty happy. Then I started stress testing with Everest and it all went to hell. It just kept crashing = (. Long story short, I am now at 434 x 8 a lowly 3.5 and at 1.535v in the bios. It runs Everest stress for 5 hours then got an error, but the thing that is currently pissing me off about it, is 3DMark06. The CPU test either errors out and crash 3DMark, or fully reboot my system.

Am I missing something? I dont see how I can bench super pi and wprime at 3.72ghz then crash 3Dmark06 CPU test at 3.5 with higher volts. . . .

If someone could post a detailed BIOS setting list (detailed as in everything, especially what CPU Features I should have enabled/disabled), so I can see if I've missed something, I'd appreciate it.

Did you tried to raise cpugtlref for increase of stability? Sometimes helps.
    Write what voltages you increased?

For finding-out of the maximal OC it is possible to disable all CPU Features but ThermalControl.

Darth, is your VID your cpu voltage? Also what is your ram voltage at? Thanks for your time.
The software you listed for stability works with vista 64 bit?

I tried a CPU GTLREF of 70% on on both sets of core, did nothing to stop/prolong 3DMark from crashing so I turned them both back down to default (67%).

Current voltage settings, 1.535, MCH 1.48, ICHIO 1.6, CPU VTT 1.23 ICH, 1.09

I had the board at 470 something earlier with a 6x multi, and the ram at ddr 1200 to test. So its not them.

    ICHIO 1.6
    And it for what?
    CPU VTT 1.23 ICH
It is probably necessary to increase more. It is very important factor for quad OCing.

Have u tested s&m FPU test at vcore >1.5v? If it's OK - what is your PSU?

Should I set my cpu voltage down so it reads about 1.20-1.21 in cpuz?

You should set vcore as low as possible at so higher frequency as possible

a simple test bench with wPrime bench, specifically the 1024M bench, will tell you if you have enough vcore....open task manager, performance tab, while doing the bench to make sure all four cores or two cores stay engaged.

run the 1024M test...it's going to either kick you of windows with not nearly enough vcore or it will knock one or two cores offline but while still trying to complete the bench...in that scenario, it will not give a time completion on the bench.

like i said in my previous post...also open task manager performanc tab to watch the cores making sure you stay at 100% while benching.

It finished in a little over 500 seconds and I was doing work on the computer besides that. Can I do anything about it if 2 or 3 cores shut down?
I don't think any did because it shows on the form that all 4 threads completed.

right; as long as all 4 threads show completed and you get a specified time amount, then you have enough vcore.

that amount of vcore will allow you to perform almost any bench except for prime 95...i am not a believer in P95 as a bonafide bench that you must complete because it can give you a false sense of acceptance that your voltages are adequate, which can be far from the truth...users have said P95 capable and then can not complete a folding excersise or game with a heavy cpu dependant game.

if you must try prime 95, do it for an hour but you will find you might need higher vcore to complete prime 95...the higher vcore is going to only put more stress on your cpu.

stability is whatever you do and you do not have BSOD, freeze in windows desktop, programs close out on you, get uncommanded reboots...that is true stability...in most scenarios that can be done wih less vcore than required to complete prime 95.

I did that and no go - just reinstalling vista and will use active@ undelete to recover the files from the old raid - namely my cod4 profile ...aaaarrrrggghhh!
