I only know of a few European sites that lists em already and have E8400 (9x333) part for 171 EUR which I'd guess would show up as around $209 on site such as newegg. E8500 (9.5x333) I think was 243 EUR which would prolly sell for around 290 ~ $300 USD in US. To me, the E8400 looks clearly as a better deal. If these prices won't change until the actual launch I'd say that's a nice and reasonable pricing if Intel wants to continue the offensive pricing strategy against AMD, ie slightly cheaper than Conroe when comparing multiplier & FSB and that would be possible due to 45nm.

If the prices do end up being like that, the 8400 does sound very nice

You forgot to select the "EU" symbol, so only Austrian availability was listed.

I wanted an Q9450 but if it's gonna cost like 300 EUR and E8400 only 170 EUR the choice is easy. 9x dual vs 8x quad, will be big difference in overclock result and price difference like 75%.

Yes, they will. All 45nm Dual Cores ( Wolfdale ) will work on the 680i chipset, Yorkfield though will only work on Striker Extreme and DFI's 680i board ( forgot the name... ).

Me: what PSU was that again?
Friend: Antec 480w
