so if somebody wants it i can upload it

i don't know what mem chips are on it tho, haven't removed the hs yet
Sapphire uses Qimonda and why do you say it is unlocked? I cant seem to figure out how to oc this card hardly at all.

    1) CCC only allows to 720Mhz

    2) ATI tool crashes the system if I oc even 1 mhz (beta 4)

    3) Riva says the driver is not supported:

hmmm i just meassured vgpu according to the 3870/3850 voltmod thread and... default vgpu for my card is 1.35v? 0_o

thats more than 3870 stock voltage (1.33v) !?!
what the hell? but i can still only get 760mhz core stable... some people with 3870s got 900+ stable with those volts and a stock heatsink :/

so i guess my gpu sucks but the gddr3 mem rocks... ah well...
    need better cooling...

the opposite for me..... my core seems it's ok @ 800 (have some 3dm05 tonight....)...but memory fails around 1040-1060

i'm ill...and have no time to go downto garage 0°C temp....and install watercooling on the cards.....maybe later after xmas...

just measured my card (Powercolor 3850 PCS 512MB) and it reads 1.26v. The card is good for 3Dmark06 up to 800/1000 but crash in Dirt everytime I try, dunno why

btw, are you using the same card, saaya? what bios are you using to get 1.35v core?

    cheers

edit: is this the one you are using (PowerColor3850_512mb_760_1.33v.zip)?

Fair enough, I thought it wasnt working because after running 3dmark gpuz reads incorrect clock speed.

Mine seems to be stuck at 769 and this Qimonda mem isnt half as good as the Samsung. Artifacting at about 890Mhz

Going to try a new BIOS if I can ever find a proper one

Sorry guys I was mistaken about the mem. After reading you guys got so much more out of it I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers (again) and it clocks properly now. Just ran 3dmark at 1000 mem and it was fine, testing max now.

spectrum48, what is your max core?

max i can do is 783mhz, it locks up above that (stock cooling)

glad to see your mem is working better, 890mhz was way too crap

Ok guys, here is something ive been testing for two days now.

First im dropping an HIS HD3850 512 Meg Bios that I cant remember
where I got it from but will allow you push your core to 900 MHZ
and the mem to 1100 MHZ. Im not sure what voltage its set for, but
without any physical volt mods let me run my core at 790 MHZ and
my mem full 1100 MHZ. 3D Mark 06 and games all stable in Vista-32.

Im also dropping a pencil volt mod pic, that ive also done, which now
allows me to to push my core to 875 MHZ while still stable 3D Mark 06
    and games in Vista-32.

Im using a Gecube HD3850 512 OC Edition Video Card.

Hope this helps some of you all.

Mem clocking well now at least, seems to cap out at 770ish on core still tho. Going to try a new BIOS to see if I get an improvement.

Yah so I flashed in HIS3850_512MB_3870volt BIOS and reinstalled CCC and such. Seemed to be working ok until I try to run 3d and it gives me:

Gunna try that modded Sapphire one now I guess.

you def seem to have a nice card!
well about the memory used on the cards, it seems that powercolor and gecube dont use the same mem on all cards. i talked to a friend from a shop and at least powercolor has been changing mem and even within the same badges the cards are sometimes mixed. reminds me of corsair memory where you have 20 versions and each is with a different memory chip

hmmm here is something strange, yesterday i thought maybe this is just another bios bug and my gpu can actually run more than 777 stable if i just go higher i might get into a safe zone again like an fsb hole for mobos.
so i set the gpu to 850mhz

and the card didnt crash... but everytime i tried to load a game or 3dmark it crashed or froze or kicked me back to the desktop and then i got weird 2d problems like the card wouldnt take the right resolution anymore. it said it was already running 1440x900 but was actually running 640x480 etc.

i measured vgpu again at the spots mentioned in the 3870 3850 mod thread... and it shows 1.36v IDLE... which is weird... i checked the grounds and depending on which ground you use the difference is 0.08v which would mean i might actually have a vgpu of 1.28v which is would make more sense?

so you actually installed the driver again and now you can oc the mem better? thats weird too!

    800/1115 before artifacting.

    alright!
i checked vgpu again but this time used the ground pin on the 6pin power plug.
and now im getting a reading of 1.27v that makes much more sense...

ill try to flash some bioses now and will see where they take me

EDIT: there are 3 ground pins for the pciE 6way plug.
when i use different ground pins on the plug i get different results with the vgpu spot mentioned in the 3870/3850 vmod thread

    IDLE:
with the first one i get 1.286v
with the second one i get 1.368v
with the third one i get 1.286v

    LOAD:
with the first one i get 1.308v
with the second one i get 1.408v
with the third one i get 1.306v

i assume the second and third one is correct?
