Very loud squeal/skreetch sound so bad you have to exit whatever game you are playing, seems a very common problem with Ati chipsets unfortunatly. Also sometimes the machine wont boot at all. Some links below.

my friends does this. it happens to him when downloading for long periods of time. if he mutes his soundsystem while downolading and leaves the computer on for the night... then he can unmute and stop downloading and have sound.

if he doesn't mute it...he loses sound tho

Nice review and keep up the good worke

The X-Fi have a lot's of issues on a lot of difference mobo's it all about drivers from creative, ASUS maximus did allso have thise problems before a new driver for the X-Fi came out. so i don't think it's the mobo at all.

The chipset uses around 10 watts. The piping is there to make you buy the product, not because it is needed.

it generates heat...regardless, there has to be some cooling device there

thats why all boards have a heatsink there.

Personally I found this board to be quite unstable compared to MSI and Gigabyte when using Phenom. And for some strange reason NB/SB generates more heat then Gigabyte board - you can feel it to the touch.
