    i really thank you cantankerous
i have already started your procedure and now wait for the 30minutes you say. I unplugged all my hard drives, as I don't know if and which has problems. Is it certain that one of my hdds has a problem? I also have a raptor-x which is relatively new (came from RMA two months ago).

I will post back in half an hour. Hope this works

I followed your advice but it didn't work.
After the disappointment, I started doing the ez clear a few times. I also moved the jumper to clear bios with the motherboard having stand by power!
Finally, i powered the motherboard while clearing bios! (but it didn't start!)
Then, I did the ez clear a few more times and it worked!

Now, I am at windows with the same settings as before and the same equipment! If it happens again I will replace this motherboard for a asus maximus one.

I also get the blue line (when I hit del to enter bios) after the ahci, raid, and jmicron roms loaded and before loading bios. Do you all get this line? Is it normal?

I have had the DFI do similar things. I set something too aggressive and bork the CMOS information (I think anyways) and have to completely clear CMOS with a battery removal and screw about for a bit, then my previous settings work again.

I have found CMOS to be touhcy on every DFI board I have had. Not a big deal when you know what to do about it

I get this blue line ALWAYS when I enter the bios.
Either with stock settings or with overclocked ones!

Anyway, it's working now. I hope it stays like this

I used to get the same thing with my ICFX when I pressed delete too many times, try just hitting delete once & see what happens.

Well my new board arrived yesterday afternoon (but had no time to install). Fortunetly I've got all night to play around and can't wait to get started! As corney as it sounds when I first opened up the motherboard box I was very impressed, this board is beautiful! I've done lots of reading and researching so I hope I'm able to at least get it up and running, load Windows, and get it stable at stock speeds (wish me luck guys)! Will post back after I get it up and running!

    Praz,
Is that site "Edge of Stability" your site? In anycase it was a great read and mirrored what "The Tech Repository" said about A/GTL's! Incase you guys don't have THIS linky check it out (great read)!

Last but not least, to any guys running their HDD's in a RAID 0 configuration what onboard controller is best to use (stability and performance)? Thanks for your help and time with this!

Without a doubt the ICH9R is the controller to use

Yeah, it's my site. Just something I threw together not too long age to put up bits and pieces.

Especially at stock settings you should have no issue getting the board up and running. I've had several different processors and sets of memory in it without any problems with default settings.

Awesome guys, thanks for the info, much appreciated! By the way Praz I think that site is great! I'm in a multimedia class in grad school right now and we had to build a site using Flash (so its no where near as good as yours)! Anyway the site has lots of info on it and I especially like the voltage read points (been looking for those for over a week now)!

Just got my P35 up and running, WinXP is loaded and patched, and everything seemed just fine. Well after installing my G80 driver 163.75 and rebooting I got a message saying, "Your Graphics Adapter is Not Receiveing Sufficient Power". Although I've heard of this message before I've never receieved it before. So I pulled out my DMM and measured each wire of both 6-pin connectors (all reading 12.41v), then I measured both VGPU and VMEM and the cards core and memory were receiving exaclty the correct voltages? I've tried plugging in the additional Floppy 4-pin connector to the plug above my card (next to NB) but still get same message. Just to let you know I've also got the 8-Pin connnector installed and it's also reading correct voltages all around. Last but not least I checked most of the ATX wires and their all reading correct voltages so I have no idea what the issue is, any ideas guys? Have any of your received this message after getting your DFI P35 up and running?

You booted after installing the card for the first time, then installed the drivers, then rebooted and then got the message? That's strange. Maybe your VGA is tripping something or perhaps you need to reinstal win or something..
Dunno really, that's a weird problem.

Yeah tell me about it! Earlier today I pulled everything off the board and just installed CPU, G80, RAM, and HDD. I also doubled checked all connections and again checked each and every voltage lead (all within spec)? Unfortunelty I continue to get the same message, after clicking on the "troubleshoot" button" they of course say to make sure the additional power connectors (both 6-pin) connnectors are connected, and they are! I was planning on a PSU upgrade (just not this soon) although I'm hesitant to blame this problem on it? I have no idea why this would be the problem but I'm going to install a different driver and see what happens (you never know)?

On a separate note guys do you all leave your "CPU FSB Select" jumpers on the default settings of pin 1 and 2 (with all jumpers on the bottom two pins)? I have left it there which is supposed to set the FSB by CPU but it doesn't (or of course I'm misunderstanding what it does)! Thanks for your help guys!

Hi there, I am betting it is your PSU. I have heard of this a lot, especially when the G80 based cards first hit the market. People were realizing that their PSU that they 'thought' was sufficient enough really isn't. Despite all voltage readings showing well it does not mean the card likes to be run from that PSU unfortunately. I am betting a newer PSU from Corsair/Silverstone etc will do just fine. It is not the board at all 'I feel', yet the PSU.

Yes I personally leave the CPU FSB jumper on default and it does detect 266 upon post as should. If you are getting something different perhaps flash to a later bios and do a long, hard cmos clear and start again after optimized defaults are loaded in the bios and see what happens.

Thanks for your suggestions, much apprecaited! The only reason I'm still hesitant to point at PSU is that I've been running this supply with the same hardware setup (besides DFI P35) for almost 6 months with no problems (old motherboard was eVGA 680i0? Granted it could still be the PSU but not sure? I wish I had a 2nd supply kicking around to check it out! By the way Cantankerous what PSU are you running (can't tell from your sig)?
