Of course it's for RMA. I just wrote this post to express my frustration cause i just finished building a dual loop system and don't have the time to redo this again, for now...

Well if you don't list it, we figure you didn't try it. That's also the slot you can boot up with if you have 2.0v+ RAM and you need to get into the BIOS to set the voltage higher. I have to put 1 stick of my Ballistix in that end slot whenever I do a CMOS Clear to get it to boot and set the voltage. The symptoms you listed would have been caused by leaving the voltage on Auto, so my User Error call was a correct one given the facts.

Now did you do a standard or cross ship RMA? I'm curious about the cross ship option.

in fact renegade.. now that you mentioned it... i was getting to defaults just for a fresh restart all on auto/factory for my new axerams pc1200 (just chose pc-1200 / auto timmings), including dimmvolt, and when i booted i noticed the bios had the dimmvolt at 2.5!!! immediately restarted and had it down to 2.02.

I thought dimmvolt on auto would be a jdec parameter read into the mb from the ram??

crazy, i almost had a faint.

I used up to 2.2v with different dividers, stripes, timings and other mem/nb related settings and this damn mb refuses to boot...

I'm going to return it to the store i bought it. RMA is immediate (good customers have their benefits... ) so it's no prob. The only inconvenience is the lack of time and the dual loop redo...

you've learnt your lesson - don't build loops before you've actually booted the board under air and know it's working.

saves alot of hassle in the long run.
