    Ok... ZALMAN TEST RESULTS.

P5N-32-E-SLI-PLUS with Q6600 (Stock Speeds for Test)

Single 8800GT (NO OC for Test)

    Ambient Air Temp 20 Deg.

The test consisted of 5 Back To Back Runs of Futuremark 06.

Stock Cooler Stock Fan Speed (out the box as it were)
    No Load after 10 Min
    50 Deg C
    Futuremark Passes max temp
    1. 74
    2. 77
    3. 80
    4. 82
    5. 82 (If I did more tests, I believe it would keep heatsoaking higher)

VF-1000 60% Fan Speed (Set from Bios)
    No Load after 10 Min
    43 Deg C
    Futuremark Passes max temp
    1. 50
    2. 52
    3. 52
    4. 52
    5. 52 (No Crap There...)

That is a "Delta" of 30 Degrees LOWER... Unreal!

Remember, this is only 60% Fan Speed. It is dead silent and performing Very Very Well.

I did not test the stock cooler at higher speeds because it becomes REDICULOUSLY LOUD.

I have had this product twice now, Once on my GTS and now on the GT. I am completely impressed with the performance and looks of this.

Please spend the money, it's a No Brainer Upgrade. Don't even think about it, just buy it.

I know these were old posts, but hopefully you guys still check this thread. What are your idle/load temps with the VF900? I haven't overclock my 8800GT and I'm getting 50C/78C.

I know you are talking about the VF-9000. That is quite high for an after market cooler.. I believe that it's not designed for the card.. It makes TOO MUCH HEAT.

It is not on the list of compatible cards.....

The VF900 should cool the 8800GT just fine. In fact, I'll find out first hand tonight. It's been on my overclocked 1900XT for a year now and the 8800GT puts out much less heat than that did. Kept my 1900XT well within limits (65C full load, hours of gaming).

If you do use the VF900, also note you'll need a total of 11 heatsinks. 8 for the RAM and 3 for the mosfets to the right of the core. The 4th small square is optional. You'll be fine if you have a side fan blowing on it.

Thanks for the feedback, let me know ASAP on what temps you're getting. I'd like to keep load temp in the 60's, but if that doesn't work out, I guess I'll get the VF-1000.

I'm running the HR03GT. Sig has overclocks/fan size and temps. It's huge is the biggest drawback. Can't imagine an SLI setup, for sure your PCI slot is gone with fans. Here is my case pic

All stock for now, no need for more, but it's gonna be soon methinks.
    Giga Xtreme 58 mobo i7 965 ES D0 step Corsair 1600 6 gig
    SLI GTX470 EVGA
EK HF nickle blue top CPU block (free from Eddie)
    Koolance 470 waterblocks
One big loop, two 120x3 rads. Pa 120.3 and XSPC RX 120x3. Swiftech 35x pump with V2 restop. GT AP15 fans.
    Banchetto Tech Station
120 GB SSD, and a few other drives.
    1000W UltraX3 PSU, 900 watt (1500VA UPS
    23.999" Acer GD235hz and 24" Acer H243H

That thing is too big. I'm getting better results from a VR-1000 and it's much smaller.

    Maybe will be useful
But I'll tell you. HR-03GT will give you 1-2 degrees Kelvin lower temp at equal fanspeeds.

Lol, it's not that bad. But I've got a bone to pick w/ both.

The Thermalright's pipes come straight out and force one to use the super small ram sinks on at least 2 or 3 chips. Those ALWAYS got mega hot, both on the X1900XT and 8800GTX I'd used. Also, when used on the flipside, one loses cooling for the ram/pwm, etc unless they add another fan...losing more space.

The Zalman looks like it's def got more room for better ram sinks, but just like the TR, it exhausts the air right around the case. Also, SLI w/ a sound card looks like it might be tough on airflow, if it actually fits.

I'd love to see a comparable dual slot solution that's SLI friendly AND throws air outside the case...sort of like this. Hopefully the local shops will get some of those in as I'd def like to replace the 2 GT's w/ those anyway. If I peel the goofy sticker off, will I get an industrial matte black too?!

My final w/ both are the $50 entrance fees. Tack that onto a $300 GT and you may as well wait it out for the GTS. Also, w/ TR's it seems compat across your next new card won't happen...hopefully the Zalman's a little better w/ that.

60% fan speeds = noise, and a 80mm fan? HR03GT and a 120mm at 800-900 RPM = silence. And better temps. You look at my sig and it's OC, whats the OC on the card with the Zalman?

I'd almost prefer the Zalman wo/ a fan so we could put a pair of 120's on it. Then again, Arctic Cooling's Accelero S1 would probably take care of this too.

Yea, hehe. I like the Zal for size and a 120 would fit on it too and still be smaller than the HR03. Is the Zal a 4 pin header fan or 3? Wish the 8800Gt was a 3 pin header. As long as we can play and be cool it don't matter.
