well lets see, with my case closed my cards will freeze during normal gaming,They idle at 73c just in windows.

So I can't get nothing when they don't work as advertised?

The stock fan/heatsink is a joke for these and at least they did something about it for the next buyers.

when I up the fan speeds to 100% I can get them to 60c with the case closed and 50-53 with it open.

Same temps , less noise ( larger Fan )

maybe with this cooler we can set the Fan to a high speed without that horrible noise from the "old" cooler

    regards

I think nVIDIA should have take a bigger step in replacing the GT cooler by a bigger and dual slot cooler

No thats just a bad seat on the card. The card runs cool if the thermal paste is properly put onto the card. I mean your looking at a 2-3C drop which might not make it crash but surely properly applied cooler would drop the temps nicely. If its crashing like that, then its not the heatsinks issue its an improper amount of thermal paste or an improper seated cooler.

Return that one for a new one period... My card works perfectly fine with the stock cooler without touching the heatsink or fan speed. If its not the card then its your airflow in the case itself.

Sounds to me like you have crappy case airflow, plain and simple.

The case has 5 fans and is open, with the stock fan speed they will hit 63-65 idling, with the fans at 70% I can get them to stay at 60c

I guess theres no problems when half the people with these cards are saying the same thing and they now come with better fans ect.

My problem is the cards never sped up there fan speed on there own, with them at 100% I can get the cards to idle 53-55c wich is ok with these cheapo heatsink/fan combo.

    Do you own an 8800gt?
