I don't have my board yet so I can't check myself, but does the Component Overheat Protection - EX allow you to shutdown the machine due to temps?

Just use a USB thumb drive and EZ flash from within the bios

Also Status update I got my Maxmius Formula up and running replacing my P5K deluxe and seems to be working ok, but does Anyone know what the OPT_3 temp sensor is for? my system rebooted while priming and the bios came up w/ a msg it overheated, any idea?. I just disabled monitoring for that sensor (it was set at 90C) this is w/ bios 802 as I'm awaiting a final version of 9 before upgrading.

Make sure you read this post on how to remove the N/S Bridge heat sinks.

You can use a USB floppy drive or even possibly a floppy although I haven't tried a normal floppy

    Temp Issue?

Are you stating, that asside form confirmed in BIOS and matched with Everest core temps, that you actually get a reading higher then reported by any of the other apps?

If you guys are speaking of the temps reflecting the combined core temps, (numbers around 10c higher then previoue CPU die temps) then this is norm since v0701 and is most preffered since this temp is more important then the heat sink die temp.

Welp seem stable w/ my Old overclock of 3.2 that I had on my P5K Deluxe although I have lower temps

edit: although I'm only currently running 2x1 GB of the balistix as my other set is still on RMA w/ newegg.

To Warboy and others with RAM voltage spikes:
I remember reading way back from a post on product reviews for maximus se on newegg's site that your PSU would need 30A at 3.3V for this board... Total Watts doesn't necessarily matter. Also I read for improved performance, if you are using 2 sticks of RAM, use the B slots...

The only other thing that could be causing this problem is the ram itself.

if that's the case a newer bios might fix the problem. bios 0903 seems much more stable than 0901 or 0505 did when pushing a higher speed with the ram.

edit: what is the voltage you are setting in the bios for your ram?
if it was the memory, why would there be a huge ripple in the Chipset too? The Other Power Supply is a Apevia, and its really good from what I've used it for.

Where did you read that? Anyways my 3.3 gives off 25A and the 5V is 30A

The only way you can verify those voltages are correct, is using an outside meter. I really dont think they are real, even with a component failing on the board somewhere, I doubt you would see those kind of spikes. But I definately think there is a failure somewhere that is causing false readings, and you should RMA it.

I finally got the whole graph and Everest thing working. My second run shows my vDIMM just after 6 minutes dropping from 2V to 1.7V. I have seen similar issues on the tools I work on, and it has always been a software bug, but thats not necessarily the case here. I still dont think its real.
If it was a software problem, Why would there be a huge stability issue then? Because I know for a fact that I can run at these overclocks i want.

I'm at work atm so can't post them, but it's a pretty moderate OC and 3.2 is nothing special my chip will run 3ghz if you leave everything on auto and just up the FSB to 333 I'm still trying to dial things in as I have a new cooler, I left it running Prime 95 until i get home

Tried increasing it a bit, still wont launch windows. Exactly how much did you raise the SBv?

Ok, Here is My ram in the blue slots, The slots they have always been in. Here also, Is my Chipset voltages.

Orange is the chipset, Black is the memory.

As You can see here, When the Memory/Chipset spikes its counter part Memory/Chipset also spikes.

    Which is highly abnormal.

Are all 3 pin fan connectors speedfan compatible (barring the PSU fan connector)? I heard that the CPU fan connector couldn't be controlled by Speedfan if a 3 pin fan was in there, only a 4 pin, but that all the other connectors were speedfan compatible. Is this true?

So what is your suggestion to fix this? And making it possible to load windows with a bit higher fsb. It's so wierd, I'm running the computer at 457 * 8 right now and it seems to be stable. And why is it always when the windows is loading that the computer gets stuck. Is the harddrive connected to the fsb in some way?
