    wow cool.

im definitly seriously considering the 3850 for ultimate bang for the buck performance. especially since the 3870 is like $50-70 bucks for expensive

    nice 770mhz!! 100mhz overclock from stock 670mhz.

so the core clock is still locked u say?

the max clock before lock up is ~785 i think. cuz 4 of my cards have problem once set on 790mhz. i believe 90% of 3850 no problem to do 770/975 on 24/7.

is anyone currently looking at changing the voltage in the bios so we can hit higher clocks? there should obviously be more headroom on a 3870 than a 2900xt that i have, but unless we can bump voltage to actually overclock further than a 2900xt goes then theres little to no point changing cards except to deal with a little less heat and power usage.

Ok, so I just got my Powercolour 3850 pro 256mb. Ran a few tests and max overclock is 750/2000. Would flashing with this bios hold any perforformanne increase...?

I have the powercolor hd 3850 and max stable clock using atitool for me is also 750/2000 (749.25/1998 to be exact). I wonder if its a BIOS issue?

Also, do these BIOSes disable powerplay?

Tried the modded bios, but getting higher temps with no added performance, just using stock...

Can someone edit my default bios so that its runs at 3D clock of 725/1800 please

Pretty sure all the Powercolor's are locked at 750. All the reviews I have read have suggested so, which is a shame. Completely unlocked, the Powercolor 512mb 3850s would be amazing value for money.

Im not too sure. A BIOS cant cause artifacting can it? The card doesnt lock up at above 750 but artifacts instead in atitool. CCC itself doesnt detect a problem at 770.

I guess the HD3870 bios could work there. It might upp the voltages to HD3870 levels and also gives you HD3870 overcloks. Would be nice if it works
