Project: MM Horizon with Duality Front

Yeah I was soooo happy that I finally received my MM case after almost 3 weeks

Opening the box was so exciting.

    BUT!!!

I felt very miserably when I noticed that I missed one part.
The "standard" for the motherboard tray :S
    Like in this picture:

The thing I put a black circle on, I'm missing!! :S

And I almost got a heart attack when I opened a sidepanel, see for yourself:

    Scratches all around

One huge scratch in the plexi

    What the hell!!!!

    I'm so dissapointed right now.
    STILL CANNOT BUILD

Also some order errors with aquatuning.de
My blackplates from chilledpc.uk still not arrived.

Damnn. Am I so unlucky or what?!

Anywayz, I've mailed MM for support... sigh...

Sorry for the damaged case. The way they are packed would not have allowed those issues in transit even to Holland. They had to be like that before they shipped, I wonder where QC was? Ben @ Mountain Mods is a great guy and should make all this right by you. I know that is a small reassurance after waiting so long. I had to wait over a month for my UFO to land.

Please keep us updated on the problem.

Yeah I really got a sleepless night.

But this morning I checked everything again, and guess what.
Another damage discovered on the case, in the front panel

It's not so big one, but still, you can see it very clear:

I've tried to paint it back with a CD marker (the left scratch), but you still can see the scratch
The right one, I just left it as it is, you can see the difference.

Anyway, I've got an email back from MM.
They'll sent me a new panel and the horizon/motherboard tray with some goodies.
    So that'll make it allright

Hope they'll also sent me a new front panel.
Because these 2 damages on the front panel is like a needle in my eye..

    I'm just unlucky I guess.

But I do think it's a little strange to ship such damaged panels.

It should be checked before shipped right??
This is just very troublesome and could be prevented by a simple check...

To forget the motherbordtray brace..ok.. humans make mistakes and can forget something..
The front panel.. ok.. if you're very busy packing, you might not notice the scratches on top.
But the side panel, it's VERY obvious that it's damaged! why still packed?!

That's what's getting me really frustated.

But MM mailed me back that they'll sent me a new sidepanel and the missing brace.
    So that's good (after) service.

They have not confirmed the front panel yet. So hope they'll fix that too.

    WTF?!?!

    I think I'm going nuts.

I thought, let's prepare some of the stuff I have without errors.
So I started with the motherboard tray.

But is it me or what??

It seems that the back of the mobo tray is too high!
The sound/videocards cannot connect to the motherboard completely!

    Look at the picture:

You can see that the videocard cannot plug into the mobo completely

Without mobo, just pci cover plate. You see that it's way too high

Is this a fabrication error of did I do something wrong?!?!

You got to be kidding me.

I thought, let's prepare the fans on the backpanel of the case.
So I grabbed the fangrills I also ordered at MM.

And guess what the first fangrill looks like:

Also, the toppanel has 8 of these "dots", don't think that's normal too:

I'm about to throw everything I ordered last weeks out of the window

I sent them emails, so they should already know about this.

The bottom, casters, one sidepanel and backpanel are fine.
(backpanel a few minor scratches, but not very noticable, so I'll let that just be)

So I just installed the fans on the backpanel, just to have a little fun after all these dissapointments.

But I noticed a small thing.
I also ordered 10 Yate Loons fans.
One of them, misses a "black round sticker" on the motor.
Is that also going to cause problems? (maybe dust in the motor or something)

Check (the left one has a black sticker in the middle, the right one has no sticker):

Yeah I can do a lot of things to solve the problems.
But the problems shouldn't be there!

The products are broken/faulty and it isn't my job to fix it...

Sounds like either a careless employee, or a new hire. Maybe if they created a system to know who packaged teh case, things would change, as each employee would be responsible for thier work.

Would be nice if the MM guy came on the forum and fix this for you mate,as with all the damage in your order it would make me think twice before buying anything from them again.

It really sucks, I was sooo hoping to get my PC build last week.

Now it'll be next week or the week after is everything goes well from now on.

I've mailed MM now, they'll replace the sidepanel and sent the horizon brace.

The toppanel and frontpanel can be replaced too, but then I would have to sent that all back to MM.
And then they'll sent the new panels with slow shipping (because of the volume) so it'll take a lot longer!!

Damn, I can't wait any longer, it's almost holidays and then I have to work a lot and got no time left for PC building.
So I have to build this PC before christmas

I suggested that I keep the front and toppanel and that MM can compensate with something.
The sidepanel is too damaged, so that one they HAVE to ship to me new, with the horizon brace and fangrill ofcourse.

That could be done with FEDEX so I'll have it next week.

About the motherboard tray, I haven't got an answer yet.
They asked me if I used the supplied standoffs. And yes I did, so what can cause the problem then?!

Also, I'm missing one tampered screw (I have 15 out of 16).
It's possible I lost one, while opening the little bag, but I don't think so (I work very carefully).

Right now, I'm waiting for MM's respond email..

Well, finally got some good news

I've played around with the motherboard tray, and with using more force than normal, I can get the videocard fit in the motherboard!
    So the Tray is allright!!
I should have tried/played around a little more before I had posted this problem.
My apologies to MM for this one.

But the other problems remain though...

Anyway, as said, I will keep the front, bottom and backpanel.
(although front and back is a little scratched, but with a black marker, it's not that visible, see the pictures).

I got a little time left, so I build the chassis

Now I hope that MM will sent out the missing Horizon Brace and the replacement Side Panel and with some compensation early this week, so I can FINALLY start building!

Also still waiting for the mosfets and cpu backplates from chilledpc.co.uk
    (previous shipment is lost! :S)

And also waiting for the EK-Asus 1 Acrylic mobo waterblock set from Aquatuning.de
(they had sent me the acetal, while I ordered the Acryl... sent the acetal back last week).

So if all three firms can ship their products out this week, I hope I can build my pc this weekend!!!
