Tested again with QX9770 on water and DICE for max OC, first i try max oc with water it can max speed about 4.5-4.6GHz and now ambience in Bkk Thailand around 28 ํC and follow to DICE but i have dryice about 3kg as can benched only 3k06 and AM3 because i used more time on finded max frequency

    first on water by D-Tek + 3fan Alphacool rad. + DB-1 + SS FM121 fan

    QX9770ES(L738)@4.5-4.6GHz, 1.504V
    GIGABYTE X38-DQ6
    G.SKILL 8000HZ
    ATI HD3870
    Western WD800
    Thermaltake 1.2kW

    Max frequency is Pi1M pass @4.6GHz, 1.504V

    Max frequency is Pi32M pass @4.5GHz, 1.504V

and Max frequency by default Vcore @4.0GHz

    Pi 32M 4Thread Pass !

Awesome chip you got there ZoLKoRn, true freak on a leash... There is still some reserve left in SPi 1M i see.

Have you tried hitting FSB wall of your L738? Coldbootbug (CBB) temperature?

hmm for FSB wall i think about 495-500MHz because some time it can boot but some time can't boot and Coldbug for this chip -147 ํC from i tried on Ln2

    Want to ask you something.
the s-pi 1m time is very bad for 4600 mhz , i'm running a sub 10 already at 4500, how come its that bad...? is it gigabyte what makes it slow?
The dice run is about normal value, do you have any idea?

Yes, giga is slower for me too- I have X38 gigabyte and it slower than my Asus p5k,- cpu speed must be app.150MHz higher with gigabyte to get same pi time. Maybe it is BIOS problem..
Got X48 Gigabyte, lets see how it does. Only different thing seems to be chipset, comparing to X38-DQ6.
    And a few screens:
Asus P5K (highly modded) and QX9650- need 4524MHz to break 10sec barrier:

and 5020MHz to break 9sec with DICE:

Then QX9770 with Gigabyte X38-DQ6 and DICE:

I just cant run my mem on same speed like asus.
maybe reason is Giga have Vdrop, Vcore limit (1,75V) and it complitly stock (unmodded), but asus looks like this :

    downside:

Mem is realy flying on this board now, I can do 1M with 4(four) stick @675MHz CL4-4-4 perf. level 5

Jaan, that is absolutely awesome, all those wires at the back of that mobo makes my head spin, now that's what i call modding!

Also 675 4-4-4 PL5 with 4 sticks? I would love to see a screen of that.

Your sub 10 sec. screen is awesome as well with 658 4-4-4 even though it's only 2x512.

Zolkorn, what a pity for you Jaan came into your topic and stole away your thunder.

Very nice 9770 you have there, 4.6 watercooled at 28C ambiant is very nice, especially at the relative low voltage you're running.

yep Tim, for on water look like same QX9650 but Vcore is different on QX9650 it used
    Vcore higher than QX9770

Now just gotta ask.... Jaan, do you do mods, I'm really impressed with your work, looks awesome, that many mods, that little space, making it look so simple, eventhough its hardcore.... Also, it seems very easy to control once settled...

    Thumbs up, bigtime!

    Sorry, thats not i'm want.
He has a lot better 9770 in OC under DI anyway
I just want to share my knowlege about this mobo.
So far I can say that:
+ Mobo working without any problems with DI over 5h straght.
+int. cputemp sensor is very precize even at sub zero.
    (not tested with LN2 yet)

-Vcore set in bios is actualy lower
    -Vcore drop
for examle- 1,375 in bios give 1,362V in idle and it drops to 1,325 under load
    -Vcore OVP 1,8V and more.
-I can't get mem clocking normaly (like on asus p35)
mayby it is bios related..I see Dinos have nice results with it.
ZoLKoRn, do you agree with this or your mobo is different?
I see, you use much newer bios, how it seems comapred to older?
Then we see LN2 result with this cpu- looks very promising
    Good luck

Right now I have all latest Gigabyte top mobos in hand:
    680-DQ6, P35-DQ6, X38-DQ6 and just got X48-DQ6
In last post I'm talking about GA-X38-DQ6.
Actualy P35-DQ6 was better with QX6850- Vcore was more stable and mem clocking was not a problem too.

    Sweet!
@Jaan, it would be great if you post some results in comparison with the latest 3 top GB boards (P35\X38\X48), when you try out the last one. Eager to see!
    Soon..

    Great runs Zolkorn!
I'm impressed also form the FSB
Mine under phase seems to stop it @ 437.5 with 12x multi and 449 with 11x multi
But I'll must try other voltages settings for NB and PLL
    Not tested so mouch time.
