    Anything to suggest that it would or would not be possible to run
    (2) current HD 3750's and (2) Dual-chip HD 3750's (when available)
    together in a Quad-Fire configuration?

    in theory hell yeh... but no idea tbh.

    AMD/ATI are striving to get this sort of thing to work well so i guess so. After all they are all the same cores.

    Storage = 2x Raptor's 150MB RAID 0 + 250GB Barracuda
    Optical = 2x DVD Writer/combo(SATA)

    Yes X2s only have one crossfire connector I guess 2 x HD3870 + 1 HD3870X2 should be possible though.
    Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
    for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

    It depends on the application. For instance there isn't much of a difference in something like 3DMark05 but if you look at 3DMark03 you'll see a significant difference.

    Here are the results with X38, all we need is results from a P35 (which I haven't found yet).

    You tell us. YOU have the cards, so also 2 versions of manuals with them, a paper and a software version, plus the CCC...

    @ mascaras: i'd say control yourself! Just wait for the 3870's of course. Or do as i: wait for the X2's to be released (Jan/Feb) and reviewed, then choose best price/performance setup from the complete ATI offering.

    I look forward to seeing how the Powercolor cards run with the 3rd party cooler. I'm not finding the 3870s to be hindered by the stock cooler. Maybe on the memory side but not on the core.

    So I'm using 2 3870's on a p975 chipset. So far my 3dmark06 scores almost hit 16k with an e6600 running at 3.6. I see also higher framerates in every game at 1920x1200 than a 2900xt. How much more performance increase am I suppose to see with a x38 chipset?

    PC1:
    core I7 920 [3841A627] @4.3 Ghz, EVGA Classified, Corsair Dominator GT 2000,
    ATi 5970, 2xIntel X25M, SB X-Fi Titanium, Corsair HX1000

    PC2:
    P4C 2.4@3.8Ghz - 1.6 vcore, IC7-G Max3, OCZ 4000 Gold
    ATI Aiw 9800 Pro, 2xRaptor I, SB Audigy 2 Plat Pro
    Coolermaster 210a w/ Enermax 600W, h2o cooling

    Yes, that would be very nice, I just wanted to see if anyone was using the same configuration but swap out the board to an x38. I love the cards, they are blazing fast!

    The dilemma I have is that I have a few Q6600's ready to go but I read that the 975's can't handle the quads very well. Wondering if I should just sell them, make a few dollars or 2 and wait for the penryn's or upgrade the board now. If the 3870's are much fast on the x38 then that makes my decision a lot easier.

    Any problems running CF guys? All the games you can try actually take benefits of CF?

    Waiting your results mascaras. Also, when you have the cards, some 3870+3850 would be nice

    I can tell you that running these cards in CF is a big improvement over a single 1gig 2900xt in all games I play, cod4, crysis, the witcher, etc...
