This is so, lately for the higher RAM speeds of over 1000. For overclocking, 2 sticks is always better and so running in 2nd set of slots will aloow for the higher Rrequencies.

4 stick is gonna' limit those higher speeds and good timings, and very stressful on MCH and worse if using up deviders.
