In it's current configuration has the I-Ram worked in the past. Supposedly they are picky with ram.

This board kill another kit of Team ram.

The first one only kill one dimm, this time kill both dimms, i'm using it at 2,1v and at ddr 530, 4-4-4-15. There's no reason to do that, so far i have no problems with my local dealer for changing dead ram, but i'm getting worried.

Now i'm using OCZ Reaper 9200, and hope that don't happen again.

When my first dimm got dead, i've read that other people have problems too, so i'm asking, how many kits of ram people got dead with this board?

I have been running this board since the day it was officially released. With the exception of changing hardware it has been on 24/7. I have had OCZ, Corsair and Crucial memory in it at settings of 900/3-3-3 to 1300+/5-5-5. I doubt there is anyone posting in this thread that has within reason pushed the board or components harder then I have. I've yet to have any ram deteriorate from being run on this board.

I reckon I am around 6% down in benching, which to be honest I cant feel anyway so its not like I'm hurt or anything its just a surprise that I'm down so much on just about every benchmark.

Turtletrax please post the link up i will give the fixes a go & see what happens, I don't mind screwing up the install as I will probably re-load my array as dual boot knowing what I now know anyway.

Here is the massive list of hotfixes that are not served by MS update.

    http://aaron-kelley.net/downloads/hotfix/

And here is a guide to slipping them to an install

LMK of any success. I will be happy to confirm any increase in speed

Killed the 3rd kit! I'm going on the 4 kit now!

    Killed 1 kit 2GB GSkill PC-8500 (5-5-5-15@1174 2.3v) and 2 kits (2x2GB) of Team Group PC-8500 (5-5-5-15@1142 2.27v).

There's something really wrong with this board! It's too much coincidence! 2 different kits, with different voltages and different settings!

IIf thats the case guys you might want to take a Digital Multi Meter to it and see what the readings are idle/load

It didn't suddenly stop using so much memory, it was always using 300MB, but was keeping 700MB constantly free for whatever program you might start..
This is exactly correct, if you have a look in your task manager you will see that 99% of your free RAM has been cached, this is basically vista's way of getting it ready for the next program you open, which in turn is supposed to open it faster.

As for the benchmarks, I wouldnt worry about those too much, 2008 Q1 is supposed to bring the official release to SP1 for Vista, which as I have heard is supposed to improve performance even further, and free up more RAM, ie less, un-wanted, un-needed processes running.

About the same time frame XP SP3 should also be available which so far increases the gap even more in the favor of XP over Vista.

Unfortunately though, only XP 32bit, there is not going to be an SP3 for XP 64bit, my days of 32bit OS's are long over, as with many other people with 64bit CPU's, if you stick a 32bit OS on your machine with a 64bit CPU installed, in effect you are only using half of the Processors capabilities (64bit addresses not getting used).

That's true but for benching XP is still the way to go for the foreseeable future.

    Hi All,

I've been following this thread for a while now and finally ordered my UT P35 last week so it should be here this week sometime. I'm looking forward to building a new system with it.

Wondering what you guys would reccomend for a BIOS? Was thinking 1107 unless there have been problems with it. Will be running the hardware in my signature, I'm hoping to OC to around 3-3.5ghz.

Other have found the 10/05 to be the best performer. I have stayed with the 9/13 as I have not found any other version to offer any repeatable increase in performance.

I've been using 11/07 since it was first released. No problems to speak of, and it seems to have fixed some annoying bugs for me concerning when i might have to clear the CMOS to revive stuff. I havent had to clear cmos yet since moving to the 11/07 bios. With 9/13 I found it would occasionally do odd things and just not post, requiring a CMOS clear.

Did anybody tried 11/13/07 BIOS yet? http://us.dfi.com.tw/Upload/BIOS/LP35DB13.zip
It would be cool if it was as fast and stable as 9/13.

Edit: I retested 10/05 and it is slower than 9/13 for me using 2:3 divider, It gave me on avg. 50ns memory latency compared to 9/13 48ns.
I also tried 11/13, looks like another brick in the wall, can't match 9/13.

I measured CPU PLL, CPU VTT, Memory, and Northbridge voltages for anyone who's interested:

    BIOS:
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.55
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.55
    Northbridge Voltage: 1.5
    Memory Voltage: 2.12v

    Digital MM:
    CPU PLL Voltage: 1.572 / 1.593v load
    CPU VTT Voltage: 1.562 / 1.583v load
    Northbridge Voltage: 1.505 / 1.523v load
    Memory Voltage: 2.10v / 2.12v load

    My quad primes best with GTLs (CPU VTT x 71), e.g 1.55 x 71 = ~110

That was quick Small FFTs 2h and 2min run. I added few small heatsinks on the CPLs with MX-2 on two of the sides of each sinks so it has contact with the stock PWM heatsink and other sink next to it. By doing this I eliminated hotspots on the CPL chips.

Transpiper mounted with AMD 70MM fan, it shaves off 3C from PWM.

I also removed the heatpipe and applied MX-2 all over and tightened heatpipe back pretty tight. Before doing any of this stuff, my Q6600 needed to 1.47v to prime, it would occasionally fail after few hours of priming. Now my CPU is rock stable at 1.408v.

I would be happy to measure vcore with DMM, but I don't know where. I hope it helps somebody.

Alas rapidshare doesn't work here, I think everyone here appears as one IP to RS, so it always says I've downloaded too much or something. Nevermind though
