AMD-PHENOM, thans for the results. The 3d06 bench looks very good.
Is 2.7 the limit for stock Vcore? Is this prime stable?

great stuff AMD_PHENOM
I have a no boot wall @ 2.7 as well on this Gigabyte, hence I haven't posted anything yet as i've been busy trying to get around it.
It's stable up to it, I'm not sure what the deal is either.
Im definatly buying a Phenom...Ill be very happy , Now that i know for fact its working with a M2N32deluxe . Now ill be able to really play around with my GTS on 4cores.![]()
Thank you for posting resultsThis is what i have been waiting for and 2.7ghz by 4cores is faster than what i have now! Even with low memory settings !

Thanx all. I'll post back with results for any tests requested in a short while.
will post results shortly bud.
I tried a small increase to 1.45v but saw no improvement in stability beyond 250fsb. The NB speed is 22++mhz at that point so whether or not that is a problem for this mobo I am unsure.
I was using cpuz 1.41 until last night then changed to 1.42. I get a NB speed display under the memory tab in cpuz now, aswell as ganged or unganged info.
As far as nvidia epp timings on your memory, personally I've always had problems with those myself. I find my bios now displays different timings (4,4,3,12) as opposed to what I manually set (4,4,4,12) and I also have issue with restarts. I can make changes in bios ok, and restart.......I can cold boot np......but if I restart from within windows, mobo hangs on post regardless of speed/settings.
In relation to 3D performance, I am about to install a second 8800GTS in 5minutes and will be able to comment more in a little while.
I ran cinebench mate.....I'll get to C10 in a while.
Sell your AM2 and get an MSi 790X for much cheapness.![]()

Hi there, just in case you didn't see it earlier, even though the system boots with Phenom and M2N32SLI, I'm still having some problems with overall system performance, I'm hoping that ASUS will release another BIOS sometime soon, to help sort it...!!!!
Hi thanks for the info, I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your results as well.... about the mobo, actually I'm kind of waiting to see how things pan out before deciding on a 790FX mobo or seeing how the new nVidia MCP72 chipset for AM2+ performs in comparison.....as I have 2 8800GTS' it would be a cheaper upgrade if the nvidia AM2+ boards can give good performance, as I can delay having to upgrade my gfx cards for a bit longer......I was hoping these cards would last until Q2 '08....but if the Nvidia boards don't perform as well as the 790FX boards, then I'll be getting a 790FX and 2 x 3870 X2's to crossfire..... as long as the bank manager agrees of course....![]()

It's sad but the Nuclearus FPU score is almost identical to K8. and it barely beats K8's ALU score.
Overall the nuclearus score is also much weaker than Core 2's (ok that's not a surprise; interesting note though: phenom does not lose all tests but wins some, losing many others)
Overclocked Phenom gets beaten by an overclocked E4400 in FPU/ALU score
I don't understand how much of a difference memory/bios makes for the tests as I don't know how Nuclearus really works, but it shouldn't impact the single threaded ALU/FPU results much if at all.

they made it look so easy in this video set the multi to 14 then set the hyper traNSport reference clock to 215 and then the pciE clock to 220 just to see if it works he didnt even raise the voltage.

just curious if these settings would work like the video btw hes using the 9500 he gets 3ghz without breaking a sweat.

So many forums, hard to keep track of them all...!!!
@TitanThe 9500 has a max mulitplier of x11, the CPU in that vid must be an engineering sample, maybe when the 9600 unlocked version comes out it'll be as easy as the vid shows....just curious if these settings would work like the video btw hes using the 9500 he gets 3ghz without breaking a sweat.

at least AMD Phenom series gives more performance than reported in those hardware review sites, which is not bad at all. So I will also consider getting an Athlon X2 combo and then later upgrade to Phenom when B3 stepping hits the market. Anyway, thanks AMD_PHENOM for the hard work.

I guess its due a NB issue. Almost all of the Phenoms stuck at 2700 MHz or 2200 NB MHz frequency. Should be interesting to set a lower multi to the NB and try some OC above 2.7 GHz, unfortunatly there is no Bios option at this time to lower the NB Multi.
Hope this is correct.
and these, for those interested.
Sciencemark normally gives you a set of scores like this:
Do you have those scores?
Super Pi @ 2706mhz, an updated nuclearus at the max passable 2738mhz which netted a 500point gain......aswell as max cpuz verification so far in this mobo.
I'll continue in the morning then switch to the 790X.
I'm suprised you getting pretty decent results on a board with not perfect biosGreat work so far.
If you have time, I was running if you can run the Folding@Home SMP Client. You can find more info here. Thanks![]()
I just bought a Phenom 9500 for my M2N-SLI deluxe as well.
AMD-Phenom, can you list exactly what changes you made to the bios? I can only revert it to stock from 1.1 ghz some of the time on bootup, other times it just freezes. I though i just had to lower the HTT multiplier, and that works some of the time, but other times i it just freezes when i change the CPU multiplier in AMD overdrive.
For anyone wondering, i have tried overclocking it, and the highest i got so far was 250 X 11 = 2750 Mhz, but it wasn't stable. About 2 minutes into a benchmark i ran, it quit.
Nope, +0.05v for 2.67, up from the stock 1.25v
Stock volt's isn't 4 core stable past 2.55 on mine, at least not with the standard cooling.. 6000+ stock cooler instead (heatpipe version)
With it, Temps are low 40s idle, high 50's 4core prime load
The chip seems to respond well to a small bump in vcore though.
thinkin of changing boards to something else >:|
These are pretty good results considering the limitations of the mobos. You got my hopes up cuz most review sites had a negative tone towards this processor. AMD has always been the best imo. Hopefully they wil be proving this in the benchmarks soon.

Very good informations man.Seems that board or more likely BIOS is a limiting factor.
Have you tried upping the NB voltage? When you get above ~2.2Ghz for NB ,it seems like a showstopper.I guess the Phenom OCs near 3Ghz range were done on ES with unlocked multi which allowed the NB to stay at default clocks while the cores were OCed.Now we need the same divider option for the NB as we have for memory on RevF&G,in order to keep it under 2.2Ghz.And like i said, maybe NB voltage could help a bit.
Good luck man!
