Just wondering what the name of the speed step thing is in the bios.

I have disabled everything that sounds like it and yet it still clocks it self down. (cpu)
There really is no reason not to leave C1E enabled for 24/7 settings. I haven't found any configuration where it will cause issues if the system is truly stable.

Probably been discussed already, but has anyone removed the stock cooling and replaced thermal compound ?

I'm pretty sure this is a windows problem, relating to a missing .dll

    I'll search round.
Sometimes it gets a little tricky if you get a bit too eager beaver & try loading things in a hurry.

I have got into a habit of loading the chipset drivers first then teaming then lan & so on perhaps re running/loading these drivers in this order may help, it cant hurt to try.

You could also try start - run - cmd - sfc/scannow & let windows replace any missing files, definitely worth a go rather than a re-install.

This board seems to be very picky.

    I have a 2X1GB set of 8500 Crucial ram.

It will boot fine with 1GB stick in any slot, but whenever I put the second stick in, it refuses to go past LED code 55, or verifying DMI data at the black screen.

    Any one?

    Dram voltage set to 2.0V

I know these sticks can run on 1.8V as it is.

    Will try switching sticks.

Is it me, but does this board need a significant amount of force to get the sticks to "click" in compaired to others?

I have a set of Tracer 8500's & they run real good in this board.

The only time I have had post/boot freezes is with the 1107 BIOS, my board hates it for whatever reason but I don't hear anyone else complaining about it so I think it must just be me.

So heres the deal on the ram..

I have confirmed both sticks work.

I have boot into windows with them each, but when I put them together, I stop at either code 50, 75 or Verifying DMI Pool Data......................._

    I'll keep working at it.

Absolutely. Interference issues are likely to happen between the CPU and the NB, but on the other side you've 3" if not more to the big fan on top of the nine hundred.

Does push pull make a big difference?

    Tnx.
Well a bit yes, i have enough room for another Noctua and i thought of putting in into a push-pull combo, though the TR is already in a air tunnel made my three 120mm silent CM's.
I think i takes a couple of degrees in load no doubt.

Two small eggs, sunny side up on my NB

Then I looked at the Noctua cooler I had, and it will fit IF you have a Thermalright 120 Series cooler and IF you orient the cooler so its flat face is pointing to the top of the case.

I think the Noctua cooler would also work around something like a Tuniq Tower 120, but again that would be IF the cooler was oriented so that the fan pointed towards the top/bottom of the case.

What I did instead was mount my fans at the top/back of case so they are bringing cool air into the case, and then flipped my PSU so its 140 mm fan draws warm air from the bottom of the case.

I also used the DFI copper plate sandwiched between the CPU and HSF and mounted the Transpiper assembly off the PWM at the back of the case.

Doing this has reduced my load temperatures in Prime95 by about 5 C, and my idle temeperatures have dropped by about 6 C. In addition, my PWM temperature is now about 12 C cooler at idle AND under load.

So, all in all, I am pretty happy with things as they are, and will no longer worry about adding an "extra" heatsink to the NB.
Wow. I don't get that temperature drop with the side off and a biga** fan blowing in

If you were going to mount that Noctua on the NB heatsink how would you secure it? Drill holes in the topmost NB plate and bolt the NC-U6 down onto it? I'd like to get the NB idling a little cooler than 45C.

Oh I see you've got your's in a 900 now so you're already all set. Nice case, isn't it: What are you seeing in the way of NB and CPU temperatures at whatever you've got your 6750 at? I'm at 450x8 and under load I'm peaking 65C in coretemp, the NB tops out at 51C. I can get it to 475x8 but not without going beyond 1.5Vcore, and FSBs over 477 or so just aren't stable for me

Brother, Do my temps for chipset and PWM seem ok?

    According to Smart guardian.

    CPU: 21C
    PWM: 34C
    Chipset: 39C

I think this board honestly hates my ram

Another C1 error, will not even get to the bios.

I just had it working and I made one small change in the bios and now I have a C1.

30 minute clear, Battery out, Power cables out and PSU off dosen't do it, and EZ clear dosen't do a thing either.

I can only run on 1 stick, 2 dosen't even post. I have set the Vdimm to 2.15, more then enough for these sticks.

    Hopefully someone can help
