yeah, the rad will be mounted up top where the LCD poster is now. The tubing is an estimate for the setup I will have. I figure I can always shorten the tubing, but if it's too short then I'll have to start all over.

Besides the radiator, could there be any other potential problems? I mean 400fsb is not an extreme OC profile. Many members are running 9x450+ with lower temps than this. I'm just thinking maybe I could have damaged my processor during the OC process since I am still very new at this.

VCore, PLLV, FSBTV, NBV, even SBV (really shouldn't ever matter)
    I'm stumped
Temps seem to be better on this BIOS though. I wonder whether they're simply more accurate or that they're actually different temps. It also seems that the DIMM overvoltage is down a bit.
Only concern I would have for mobo, and NB/SB remps it the inverted mounting. I experienced this in the P5W-DH whe it came out and using in my SilverStone TJ-06 BTX style. Chipset was not cooling as good. But for CPU H2o, I dont understand it either. I'd check mounting, method of TIM preperation, and probe the actual waterblock to see if it reads out hot. Cause that should cool no matter it upside down or not.

Anybody else experience issues with any mobo and its onboard heatpipes when mounted in an inverted possition (upside down as in a BTX case)? I layed mine down on it back for testing and it is OK except for occassional missread of MB temp (gets stuck on 130c for a while).

Anybody locate the MB sensor, CPU PLL (clock gen) chip and DRAM clock gen yet?

@ chocobo15, What are the settings you chose. I see you are using a devider. Put strap and RAM frequency to "AUTO" and then give it a try to another FSB. May not get more then 475FSB anyways with this Q6600 unless willing to pump some more vcore, PLL, & SBT into your OC. Compare your scores w/ 1:1 v/s the devider for 1066 and see what it returns for you. 475x8 @ 1:1 for me on my P5K was nice @ 4-4-4-9 DDR950.

On BIOS v0901 now, who else?

did 8x450 with a little more voltage in CPU PLL and booted with no problem. Temps are the same, divider now 1:1

everest memory latency was 63.5ns and on the previous OC profile (post in screenies) everest was benching 59.3ns for memory

I just want to drop my temps down.

both prime and everest won't stress test at all...10 seconds from the beginning of the test, I'll get blue screen of death and a memory dump, followed by a restart

chocobo15, Are the rest of your vots the same? Dont go too high just yet on the PLL, 1.642v should be OK for now, and 1.44FSBT is beginning to feel like a butter zone on this mobo to 500FSB. Try the rest to get reported if not already as DDR: 2.24v is fine for Dominators (just till you find the right volts for the rest of mobo, tune after), NB; is cool to 1.5v, SB: OK for 1.10v, SB 1.5 to 1.58v and fix GTL REF to 63x each CPU and hipset. Disable spread spectrum as usual if not already. Keep 1:1 for now till stable w/ strap & RAM frequency to "AUTO". This is stilla lil buggy in BIOS v0901 too. I'm working on it as we speak.

Let us all know if it does any better.

    Great job!
Thanks... Sadly though, my mem is set to 5-5-5-15 and the max is supposed to be 1.8v at that and 667mhz? For 4-4-4-12 the max is supposed to be 2.0v so i'm thinking my memory is gonna get fried if I keep this current overclock up!

I'll post up the rest of my settings later. I did run 3DMark06 last night and got my highest result yet, just a tickle over 11k!!

I also tried pushing the fsb up. The highest it would POST at was 511fsb, any higher and it just stuck at EN SETUP. At 511fsb XP wouldn't load so i'm guessing thats my Wall. I got down to 505fsb before XP loaded but 3dMark06 wouldn't run all the way through so I just put it back to 500...

I really need to get some NB/SB coolers I think. I still think I should get some 1066mhz memory though to cut back on the DRAM volts, what do you reckon??

    what a waste of time

    whats the bug??
its like this say ure running like 500x8 like me...
    it works fine with 0505/0602..
when u flash to 0702/0802 it will work fine
but when u try to meddle with the voltages
u cant run at the 500x8 setting which was perfect for 0505/0602

Hi, I've got the same wc Swiftech setup as yourself, only I'm cooling two HD2900XT's and the northbridge in the loop. Maximum I can get without running too hot is 375x9, if I try 400x9 I hit over 80c. I've a new NB/SB prepped motherboard and a Thermochill PA120-3 with 3 x Scythe 1600rm fans ready to go in, hopefully this weekend. I'll be posting up my results here and in this thread http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=164610 if you're interested to read...

    3) Would the P5E be better than the Maximus, even the non-SE, for someone who doesn't want to use water?

I'm helping a friend with a new build, and he doesnt want water-cooling... So thanks ahead of time!
    1) Yes the SE can be run on air. You will need to add a heatsink and fan in. The one INTEL gives you with a Q6600 CPU will not fit I hear. I can't recomend one, as I will be running mine on water and havent been watching the air cooled boy's and their selection.

    2) It should be.... The SE came out first.

    3) Loaded question.... But I vote X38. I believe it is a tad faster, and the BIOS'es are still being released at a good clip. None of us know how good the Maximus will be in the end until the sleigh ride is over.

Don't follow all what is thrown to you here as a big knowledge. Your problem is not memory deviders, or FSB straps, your CPU is way too hot and can't be stable at those temperatures

As I told you, and as cuke2u confirmed, I also has the Swiftech H20-220 Apex if you look at my sig.

If you look even well, you'll see I also, like cuke2u is planning to do, invested in a PA120.3 to cool my Q6600.

The dual rad just can't deal with the heat of the Q6600 at High OC. And yes, on C2D, 3.6GHz can be moderate OC, but, hey, 50% OC on a C2Q is really high OC, not extreme, but very high.

If Coretemp reprots 80°C, you have a serious issue. Check the loop, reseat your WB on the CPU as suggested before... But, as cuke2u told you, you're at the limits of your radiator. You have to invest in a triple.

Also, remember, in a WC system, the triple rad alone won't solve all the issues. Adequate mb cooling is needed, and internal rads are less efficient by far than an external mounting

    1. At the moment 0802 is the best for me, but others may not think so for their overclocks... Make sure everything is at default settings before you flash to it though.

    2. I have flashed back and forth a few times and loads of others have too so False.

Anyone recommend the best and quietest 120mm fans to use for my CM Stacker's side panel?

At the moment I'm using (3x) 120mm AK-183-L2B Akasa Amber Case Fan, but it isn't adequately cooling the NB or MB as much as I would like; my Sharkoon seated on the Thermalright must be sucking all the air being pushed in before my side fans get a chance to cool the MB because of the CFM imbalance.
The Sharkoon is 2000 RPM 76.3 CFM where-as the Akasa is 1400 RPM 44.8 CFM.

Warboy, what is your CpuVolts? close to 1.6v? How about RAMVolts? I have Crucial too, what Highest Voltage setting would you rec? I'm stable at 3.7GHz and see similar temps of the cores and I am at 1.6V for cpu now. I'm abit hesitant to up the Volts some more but I think I will soon, because there's still 20deg to go before temp ceiling.
