Just saw it this afternoon and hesitated to post it here.

I already have petra's top and i already have a 200mm EK multioption res but this still looks very very tempting, just like EK's new Supreme block.

    Must resist though..

Ohh, the last top with the small reservoir looks perfect for my project since the barb is pointed correctly for my tubing and shorter tubing by removing a separate reservoir.

If the price is right, you get a new buyer in line

What about cyclone effect in the top/res combo?

So which is better, Petra's top or EK top... hmm....
Already have a Petra's top so I'm sticking with it

There is non, look back a few pages there is a EK res devlopment topic where he shows the missing part in the photos above that stops it. All it is a small plastic plate that stops the water from spinning

Holy smokes. He's trying to corner the market

As long as he can guarantee that cyclones will not happen again. Those small tube reservoirs make me nervous.

Plus, we already determined that Alphacool's version of reservoir on top of DDC+/Ultra pump isn't so good. What makes this better?

It'll be interesting to see if Alex comments.

There was obviously a good reason for the PTS top overhang. If not, a shape matched top would've been made.

We need to see underneath the top to see what magic Eddy has wrought. I've been surprised from the first pics by the res rebate. The tardus top?

From the pictures provided, it looks like the res bottom of that top/res combo is different from the v2.0 res bottom. There is no divider shown in the pic posted by Pete. I'm not positive but, I think the way Eddy has the inlet barb positioned, there my be no need for the divider as the return water might cancel out the cyclone effect. In the standard res, the inlet is off to the side which had little to no effect in canceling the cyclone effect.

As for the G3/8 version top, looks like it will perform about as well as a Radiical top

Right you lot, you have the man him self, the guy that spend the time to draw the block, make it and everything here posting tons of info and asking us this and that. Just look for his stuff all answers there.

5 mins if that this took! Enough said

A very simple and cheap solution:

We made some simulation test and found a excelent solution for the DDC top RES option.

    One picture is attached here.
The trajectoryes shows a speed of water.
Which shows the water path and thet there will be no air bubble sucking here
The most important part is the insert into the reservoir on to the DDC top. Looks like Anti-Cyclon bit it has different features.

    I like it!
But can anyone explain why the intake on the DDC is off-set?
That thing doesn't look centered at all!

Your assuming the res is centered. It's actually shifted to the back of the top.

Pete, sorry, I'd forgotten about that.

    That's awesome.

When is someone going to start making D5 tops though?

Both of mine are tired of being stock, and would love some EK goodness...

Yeah, we need some D5 death threads to balance matters.

Koolance already do but thats swearing! I guess Petra (Alex) might in time, if we all started a top as a poll for it, with it being ported, if not Alex maybe Eddy.

Start the topic i'd back you on it. I might be able to get one lazered and rendered into cad if someone sent the part to copy and then you can mod the drawing then

Who knows, maybe all the performance tweaking of the custom tops does reduce longevity..

    It's ok, I have a basic D5 model I'm willing to sacrifice

Seriously though, it just seems to be an untapped market. Now there's half a dozen DDC tops and not a single "non aluminum" (sorry koolance) version for the D5

this has my attention and I pose a question, given how the EK tops/bottoms are standard design, could a larger capacity res be put in place of the stock? What I mean is more volume of water, like the 150/200/250?
