No leak ... altho the pic does look like it. I actually went back and double checked after I posted the pic originally

It's been running fine ... altho agree I've a tendency to "overtighten" - think that's pretty common with first timers.

(apologies, Eddy - didn't meant to divert your thread)

The small holes you can see in the alphacool pump tops' side are for drive bay couplings and they have a small squarish res that combines with that top.
So it's out there. You've just got to track it down.
    Unless your's is a D5, not DDC.
I got an Alphacool top, and I know that small reservoirs exist for the Alpahcool and Watercool tops. But over at the German hardwareluxx/forumdeluxx people say that they're not very good, because you can't get all the air out and the cyclone inside is so bad that the pump will draw air form the reservoir. That's why I said that I would love to have a "good" top/reservoir for my Laing (DDC).

    Here's a pic:

If you were to add a 1/4" threaded hole into the screw-on cap, you could add some tubing and a fillport, sort of like a T-line.

This way you could get rid of all the air in the reservoir, so the pump would no longer draw air!

I'll try to get a reservoir for my Alphacool and make a modded cap myself.

Indeed, just (carefully) drill a 11mm hole in the middle of the cap and then tap it with a 1/4" tap

    (been there done that)

You mean you tried what I described or you've drilled a hole in plastic like that?

    Update!

We made some simulation test and found a excelent solution for the DDC top RES option.

    One picture is attached here.
The trajectoryes shows a speed of water.
Which shows the water path and thet there will be no air bubble sucking here
The most important part is the insert into the reservoir on to the DDC top. Looks like Anti-Cyclon bit it has different features.

    Eddy,
The DDC top looks great. Just one question though, would the reservoir stress the top and make the top susceptible to fatigue cracking? Thanks.

    Hi!
    That cannot happen.
    I assure you that

Looks awesome eddy! I suppose there's no way to move the inlet to the top of the res eh?

This looks really good. The one problem I have connecting the EK res directly to the pump with a fitting is - it's a pain to get the "plug" in correctly on the side inlet that is no longer in use.

Res connected directly to the pump definitely gives lots of options for placement, and it is quite stable.

wow.. i would certainly buy one of those.... but one question, with that setup, would the orientation of how you put that in your setup matter?

Eddy_EK, I've been wanting a t-line/reservoir hybrid for a while. What do you think of the idea?

I drew up an example of what I was thinking (w/MS paint -- sorry ). It's basically your delrin base and cap put together without an acrylic tube and with the G1/4 high flow barbs setup in a t-line configuration. There may have to be some modifications to your usual res parts, but as you can see, it's as much a t-line as it is a reservoir, but i figured it wouldn't be too hard to make?

For MSpaint that's pretty darn good! How did you get that gradient?

Thanks for the compliments guys. SparkyJJO, I can't give all my secrets away.

I really hope Eddy_EK seriously considers making such a t/res hybrid because I think it would be a great help to bleed air out of the line with the ease of a reservoir while somewhat maintaining the flow, space, and simplicity of a t-line.

Of course, he has my full permission to take my idea and do whatever he wants.

Hello, got a question, is it better to have bigger or smaller reservoir?
