Okay I'm out of the loop is the e8500 where in the standing of the new 45nm chips? low clocked or high up there? Also I'm guessing when they come out they are going to be around $200 from what I read, how fast are these compared to a Q6600?

Highest clocked 45nm dual core CPU and AFAIK price should be USD 266 just what a E6850 costs now.

Ah, article I read was off then. Are there going to be lower cost 45nm replacing the e6550 spot then?

Thanks bud, and 6mb of cache? WOW. Still curious though is it worth going for a Q6600 over one of these? Not a lot uses 4 cores as is, and I'm sure these will fly

Very impressive. Phenom is gonna get it's arse handed with the mediocre speeds they are releasing those at. Intel took the game to the court with 45nm it looks like. i did read where they had a hard time keeping quad cores under the rated power envelopes above 3.4ghz however.
