What voltage issue do you mean ?
Still looking into my issue..........................

OK, I am highly suggesting plumbing the Fusion block into your loop if you can. Dropped NB temp from 47°C to 34°C under load. NB volts at 1.65. It also helps anything on the heatpipe lose a degree or two, my SB temp is down some too. It didn't kill my flow too bad, dropped it some, but not bad. All I had was a CPU block in the loop anyways. And the MCP655 has a lot of push power.

I don't plan on moving to water cooling just yet but for the sake of keeping my system cool, any suggestions for a very simple water cooling solution for just the NB???
Just a question. I know an okay amount about overclocking but is changing the pci-e frequency a must to maintain stability?
From what I have read, most guides say to lock in your bus frequencies at standard to avoid damaging add-on cards but I haven't read anything yet about overclocking the PCI or PCIe bus?? Any links or info would be appreciated.

Damn I had these issues when the GTS just came out only a beta driver solved my issues with games.... will look for ya GAR if I find something...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree
Forget 0701 and 0602 ----- 0602 loosend NB timings, and performance of the board overall according to benchmarks.
0701 they might have done something with the NB timings/board performance I cant even boot my stable settings with DRAM Static Read Enabled, or Transaction Booster Enabled and fiddled with voltages for a bit, but nothing worked....its back to 0505 for me until otherwise![]()
Damn so far max fsb that I've reached is 527 dunno is my 6850 or board.
Today some ss cooling and 10.703 SuperPi 1M

Win reinstalled only with the Intel INF update driver, nothong else. After that the situation is the sameI just try the newest driver to install, that U linked too...
I will try to put the X-Fi to the another pci slot.
Can I use my VGA in the 2nd PCI-E or is that won't be an accolmplishment?

0602 fixed the 500*8 boot issue I was having with my Ballistix Tracer 1066 kit though. I will try 0701 later today possibly and see what happens as even with 0602, I was still having divider issues. Right now I am at 445*9 with my RAM at 1069, 4-4-4-12-2T and am seeing excellent performance.
Anyone with 4x1GB sticks try 0701 yet?

I'm chosing not to OC right now until I get my CPU cooler. But I've noticed with the 0401, 0505, and 0602 BIOS if I leave everything at AUTO CPU-Z tell me that my CPU is set at 333 X 6= about 2000. Where my 6750 should be 333 X 8= about 2660. Is this normal?

I haven't tried without the fusion block, but i have the same temps with it connected. 33°C idle, 36°C load on NB. Around 32°C both idle/load on SB. ~1,65v on NB.
I have a SB X-Fi Gamer card in my last PCI port and i've got no problems at all with it.
Run my Q6600 on 3,8ghz (423*9) 1,5v vcore 100% Stable
btw. Best board i've ever owned for overclocking![]()
So I'm trying to decide what to do with the Maximus. I have to RMA it, not sure if I want to try another one or perhaps try another X38 (or even P35) board.
Is it normal for this board to have reboot issues? when you hit F10 to save changes from the bios, does your machine restart the way it's supposed to? Can you do reboots from Vista, Dos, etc?
Also, does Asus or Intel have a utility like nTune or uTune (abit) that allows you to tweak voltages from within Windows? I find this handy when overclocking. Get a stable OCCT run and drop the vcore down .2 volts and try again. Saves A LOT of time as opposed to rebooting EVERY time you tweak something.
Thanks in advance for any advice...
GAR do you have Vista 32 installed as well? It could possibly be the 64 bit driver for the GT being immature. If you where able to try on Vista 32 and repeat the BSOD behavior then I would start looking else where other than the driver.

@GAR
it seems like the 8800GT issue is isolated, mine runs fine but im still on the 0505 bios. Try a downgrade and keep your PCI-E locked at 100. The only problems im seeing so far is the vista restart issue and I won't upgrade my bios until that gets fixed in a release.. I have no problems with dividers or x-fi conflicts..
anybody else experiencing issues with their 8800GT?

I give up and waiting for new driver for X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro FPS, because it won't work![]()
Xp reinstalled again, inserted just the X-Fi in PCI slot1 and VGA in PCIEx16_2(worked without any problem), but it was no use
The mobo doesn't recognise the card at all, think it will be driver or bios matter. I wait for a while, if there is no solution, i will say goodbye to the board![]()

I have 1 question about my RAM.
It's Corsair XMS2 DHX 4GB: 2 X 2GB Module (DDR2).
It is rated at 1.80V
When I boot the Maximus SE for the first time, what will my RAM's voltage be set to, and is there any chance of it being too high, and actually damaging my RAM on the initial boot?
If this board does over-volt the memory by a tad (not sure that it does), when I do get control of the BIOS, what would you set it to initially?
Thanks.
