We can only state what's reasonable at a given speed range. For example the 50500 number was for 5 GHz+. At lower multipliers, you see higher efficiencies, since the FSB is proportionally higher with respect to CPU speed.

If you look at his original thread though, he himself listed several exceptional times, such as before's and kyosen's that broke the pattern. The 50500 was just meant as a ballpark guide, not an absolute number, based on over 200 results. At 4 GHz we can see most of the best times wind up around 50000...at 3.6GHz around 49800.

If we were to scale my 4 GHz pp up to 5.5GHz, I would require 550x10 2:3 with the memory at 825 4-4-4. If I could do that, then yes...50000 would be possible at 5.5GHz.

We aren't defining lines...the numbers are just to make things clearer and distinguish what's reasonable from what isn't.

Yes, that's the way it was and that's the way it is in EVERY upcoming CPU...

Yes...same as with 3D. 100K single in 01 for example will be easy now, whereas it was next to impossible with Conroe. (Still possible, just very difficult ) The barriers always change and the bar gets set higher as new hardware comes out.

The "ideal" line is based on "50500"....a.k.a., a VERY well-tweaked system, and what you can expect as MHz changes.

I meant the ideal for penryn QX9650 is 45000 now, what will it be within few months when people have ddr3 and such to play with. that number wil go down to an depth what you in the time being of the 45000 number woudl say that is impossible.

why the hell are you guys flying around with "efficiency" figures when they are not absolute and change when CPU frequency changes

please stop it if you are going to compare different MHz runs until someone comes up with a formula to get correct figures out

right now those number are just confusing people more than anything

I already know how to follow the instructions on copy wazza, maxmem, tweaks and CDT but I can understand many will still not because of subsequent questioning and feedback. Elmor made it pretty damn clear for me.

George: You posted your test results. The important thing all you guys missed out to show is what was the system cache and memory available size when your ran SPi: i) before any tweak ii) after CDT iii) after Maxmem iv) and after CW? (isolate all of them)

Because thats all those things work on and the prefetch buffers.
