This is insane, it won't open up.
This is like when someone gets into an accident and everyone has to look while driving, making the speed go from 75mph to 5mph.
Damn get your kicks in and get off the site
So, from what you guys wrote, can I pop my mcw60 with the G80 mounting kit on there? or do I go back to the old mounting kit?
I ordered the msi oc'd one, hopefully I will get it sometime this week.

Probably will have to be a comparison anyway since the coolers won't come in before the cards .

    8800GT ownz.
They can fake, distort or even try to cheat but if they do that to much it only falls back on them.
rarely are results that inconsistent over the different reviews.

    8800GT is a supercard.
    IMHO.
    Price/performance it simply ownz.

Superb card, i'll be looking to buy one tomorrow in UK.

My only concern is playing Crysis with 4AA/16AF, vr-zone review shows that the GT is four times slower than GTX.

at 1920x1200 and 4Xaa and 16XAF the 8800gt runs out of memory. thats the only problem. dial it down to 2Xaa or 1680x1050 res and it should be near the 8800gtx in performance again.

i've got one of those here just waiting for my GT... soon as i find a place that has them in and is not price gouging. looking at the cooler inhand, it looks like it should do a much better job then the dinky stock cooler.. just wish i could increase the rpms of the fan. Anyone know how to change the speed of the fan via the fan driver IC?

i just notice that vr zone's review on Crysis demo was @ everything medium .... ummm, if it were high texture, it would have run out of VRAM in 1920x1080 no aa... in 1680x1050 no aa, i am getting ~450MB constantly, and as much as 520MB at one point, with everything high, ill prolly play it at 2xaa , hopefully .... i mean its ok to pass the VRAM limit ~50MB right??

maybe they should release a 1GB version ....

also anyone know any good ram sink?? that doesnt fall ... or more sticky than others??

450MB of VIDEO RAM used? Wow. What did you use to get that number?

oh rivatuner, but nvm i guess i had 2xAA on , to get 520MB(for like 10 sec) and it drops to 470-ish iirc

    this is all high@ 1680x1050, 16AF , 0 AA :
    http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7...ot00171ht5.jpg

was getting ~410MB after about 3min, but iirc the longer u play the more VRAM it eats i guess as u move around the island it needs to load all the texture, so i think 1680x1050 no aa all high ~ 400 to 450, maybe 500 maximum, but 99% of the time in 400~450

hmm i guess 1680x1050 2xAA shouldn't be a problem for 512MB, i think its ok to go 50MB over the limit assuming u have good bandwidth? is it??

man i think ill wait for the 1GB version

i remember many GTS 320 user report that STALKER had huge performance increase after "alt+tab" to windows and back, which clears VRAM and reloads again

STALKER @ 1680x1050 max out , 2x/4xAA was around that 400/500 range (i tihnk?), so yeah i mean 50MB over shouldnt be a big deal, but 100 ....

for GTS 640 1680x1050 4xAA all high, is the limit, it eats about ~600MB VRAM at that setting, and creeps to 640 the longer u play

Keep in mind it doesn't always necessarily mean you need a card with more memory. Most games show the GTS 320 and 640 to be near identical (most, not all).

right but @ 1980x1080 4xAA on most games GTS 320's performance just took a nose dive ... ie running out of VRAM
    such as here:
    http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...date/page3.asp

COH wouldnt even run on GTS 320 @ 2560 4xAA??
    http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...date/page4.asp

i mean i dont mind paying 50 bux more just to be sure that @ 1680x1050 + 4xAA it doesnt run out of VRAM ... but i guess 512 should be enough for Crysis @ high 1680x1050 , 2xAA

Get a kit of ceramic epoxy, adhesion and contact is superior. The sinks just twist off when you go back to stock, no worries, acetone is your friend.

    Try Swiftech kit for sinks.

I'm thinking of buying EVGA, because of the 90 day step-up program. Maybe buy a high-end one, so called G90 later on

Bah, who needs AA when you have motion blur on and you are running at full speed =)

I'm guessing it's probably no more than 400MB if you turn AA/AF off.
