thx for the info. i wonder why SG doesn't use the same sensors that core temp does...

ouch... keep testing your stick. it may just start working again. this happened with one of my 8000 tracers, and now they work like a charm... never knew what happened for sure, but system wouldn't post with one of 'em and now it's perfectly fine.

Guys I just noticed something strange.... If you set 1.65/1.7v + on the NB the (Graphic interface transfer rate) drops down to 1x on the motherboard tab of CPU-Z.

Can you guys confirm this is the case with your rigs, I am using the 1005 BIOS BTW but confirmation with any BIOS would be nice.

Thanks for the reply bud, its not really a major problem for me as 1.57-1.61v NB is all I need to do what I want anyway so don't rush your build on my behalf.

The problem is now I know its there it will bug me all weekend.

Is it true 533 memory won't boot with this board?

I have crucial Anniversary sticks, so this might be a problem. What 2x1GB sticks do you recommend? I'm thinking OCZ due to their close work with DFI?

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

Finally after weeks of trying im finally getting what I want out of this board, just working on voltages now, but this is what happens once you get those damn annoying GTL's just right and also, dont know if its just me and my board, but it seems to love the 5:6 divider, much more than the 1:1, currently on 0913 bios.

p.s. NB is 1.4v Mem is 2.14v, not very clear in the picture.

I don't have a PC to do that from, so I take that as a no about 533 memory. Feel a bit ripped by Crucial for this so called "special 10th anniversary which is apparently cherry picked".

    Any idea on memory?

give me a minute and I'll try mine.

edit: YES, and no they refused to boot with auto settings but I set 5-5-5-18 manually and they booted right up. so at least your sticks will work, just need a little tweaking before hand. and btw my sticks have been abused for many many months so it is possible a better set would boot from spd's. mine only call for 1.8 volts, lots of peoples have 2.0 or 2.2 spd settings.

I found that G Skill HZ, G Skill, And OCZ Titanium and Platinum work fine. Board detects and sets corret start up. VDIMM droop is pretty bad..about .02 under load.

    No CAS4 :o

Is that ever going to resolve? I'd like to see some CAS4 action one of these days...

LOL I tried for 3.8ghz, but the voltages needed to keep it stable there "right across the board" are stupid high along with the temps, im quite happy with low voltages and 3.6ghz, with 3gb (4 sticks of Crucial Ballistix) sitting at 1080mhz, thats plenty fast enough for me.

i just picked up a dfi ut lanparty p35... to replace my infinity dark... that board made me want to just put a hammer to it trying to oc a quad core.. the 965 dark is still a stellar board its fast.. but time to move on. i liking this board, it has tons of features to tweak. before on the dark board when would reboot at start up on anything over 330fsb.. now im priming at 400x8 fsb. i would get bsod after 4 to 5 hrs of priming... so still tweaking the gtl, nb and vtt volts trying to stablelize it. im getting pretty close to having this system stable.. i know 3.2ghz isnt much.. but i got a b3 core that priming away at 3.2 ghz on 1.3v.

anyone have any suggestion on how to get my quad stable at 3.2

What are you using to monitor the memory voltage. Regardless of system settings I have found VDIMM to be rock solid.

Although the CAS4 issue is being worked on from a BIOS and SPD solution don't hold out much hope. There's not much chance of a software fix doing anything for the hardware limitation (P35 chipset).

I'm lazy about it and use notso Smart Guardian to monitor the rig.

    Thanks for the info.

In BIOS I have to set just under 2V to get 1.9 in Smart Gaurdian: while folding the voltages are in flux ticking back and forth between 1.92/1.9.

I am very impressed with this board. I've used a fair number of boards and this one stands out.

Brother Esau had asked about memory voltage before. This was my measured voltage at that time.

Count yourself lucky you only see 0.02v droop, I have set 2.23v to the mem in the bios, in SG I see 2.14v to the mem, either SG is reading it wrong or im loosing a shed load of mem volts, upto 0.10v, somewhere between post and Windows OS.
