possible proof that the 8800GT Beats the GTS...

Well i not sure how to take this but i am sure it must be correct thou.

Basicly as we know crysis and nvidia have worked together closely for this game making sure that each card works well.

If you look at the crysis nvidia file thats located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Config\gpu

Check the last on the list, the GTX, Ultra, all get a score of 4
    The GTS scores only 3

BUT the 8800GT is given a score of 4 the same as the GTX and ULTRA.

Now this really must be kinda real if nvidia is working closely to make sure each GFX card is set to match what it can run.

    WOOOHOOO!!!!!!

So you what you guys think ?

    More true now possibly.

    Code:
    0x10DE, 0x0191, 4 // NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX
    0x10DE, 0x0193, 3 // NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
    0x10DE, 0x0194, 4 // NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra
    0x10DE, 0x0400, 2 // NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS
    0x10DE, 0x0402, 2 // NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
    0x10DE, 0x0421, 1 // NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
    0x10DE, 0x0422, 1 // NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
    0x10DE, 0x0423, 1 // NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS
    0x10DE, 0x0611, 4 // NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
    And for AMD fans

    Code:
    0x1002, 0x9400, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9401, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9402, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9403, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO
    0x1002, 0x9405, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT
    0x1002, 0x9500, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9501, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9505, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9507, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9580, 3 // RV630
Ops there all GTS performance Sorry guys.

In the according amd file RV670 has 2, when HD2900XT has 3. And some mysterious RV630 has 3 ?

    0x1002, 0x9400, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9401, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9402, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT
    0x1002, 0x9403, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 PRO
    0x1002, 0x9405, 3 // ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT
    0x1002, 0x9500, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9501, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9505, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9507, 2 // RV670
    0x1002, 0x9580, 3 // RV630

If the game is very very shader heavy. Then that explains the nVidia part. Since GTS got more "raw" power, but GT got alot more shader power. For the AMD part..unless its a type and RV630 is 2 and RV670 is 3. Then I dont know...

One question, is there any document that indicates that the last number is a score index, performance score, etc ?

Presets. And its not "scores". I bet it just defines what default settings to use.

thats perfectly Normal , crysis was done in partnership with NVIDIA ..................

but i have better performance with my HD2900XT than with my 8800GTS 320mb in crysis , i have samsung TFT 22" (1680x1050) with my 8800GTS at that resolution with HIGH game settins its unplayble (15 fps) , with HD2900XT& same settings ( 25-30 fps) >> http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=174

and of course 8800GT its better than GTS , we already new that

    regards
