People running @3.9-4.1GHz range: what are your settings (FSB, voltage etc) and cooling?
THX
I primed[ small FFts] mine 9 hours and 30min before 1 core failes @ 3.6ghz(400x9) @ 1.392 before 1 core failed :<, thus I prime always 12h+ mark:X and got it stable with vcore 1.408 for 13 hours.

Not a problem at all. Idle temps are in the high 20s low 30s and a major short term load only reaches around 40. My 24/7 speed currently is 3950 at 1.53v which is very stable infact other then prime I can run anything all day long without issue. IMO buy real good parts for a liquid build and over size the heat load you think you might need and you should be happy with the results, patience is everything when building. I perfer Thermochill rads myself even though they are pricey and have built many liquid systems with them that paid back great results.![]()
Thanks much, Im just getting started with this chip as I only fired it up last week and have been working like a total retard way too much lately which leaves almost no time to continue research on this new monster, I worked today 13hrs and just got home. Prime95 is rather humbling when you think everythings crankin though I personally do not use it much. I will bring that speed back up and run it again and again until I dial it in. I will post more as I move forward.![]()
Thats a good question though IMO I think the Fusion still has the lead. I have a liquid cooled Opty 170 system at 3G on my left here that is using the Storm rev2 and the Q rig on my right has the Fusion which I think is working better though there are many variables that can effect a direct comparison. I think the Fusion might have a slightly larger Copper surface area which would certainly give it an advantage in heat dissipation. There are however a couple of new players out in the water block arena that look very promising.![]()
wow, mine takes 1.4 to fold @ 3.4 stable 24/7... wish I could get 3.6 stable at 1.4v... it's do 3.6 but not a 1.4 24/7 stable...
Here's my contribution: (haven't had time to see if it'll go higher)

Yea, i know I lapped the cpu + TRUE , this what lapping did for me:
before Lap:
After Lap:
Still got a big gap between cores 0 1 & 2 3, after the lap I could reach for same clock with lower vcore required, before it needed at least 1.440 vcore or= reboot within 2-3 hours of prime

Thats a pretty nice decrease in temps for lapping and I would not get too crazy about the core temp difference, my temp readings are the same though not as drastic. You would need an almost optically flat surface on both parts like a granite surface plate for perfectly even heat distribution. Im happy with this chip so far and think its still got some headroom beyond 4G left once really tweaked.
Just received a 730A , VID 1.215 does 3ghz easily on 1.2 volts under load, 3.4at 1.325, not been higher yet , it's on a gigabyte DS4 mobo , gonna put in the P5K DLx with WC as load temps were at 56°C with an thermalright Ultra 120 with a Papst GL fan at 1200rpm in an open case... testing will continue, think this one will replace my 727B

Mine, quick run of things really... didn't get to optimize, change nb volt, etc as the goal wasn't to get the max mhz out of it but to stress enough. I am pretty sure there is 50-100mhz hiding in there somewhere.
Nice job. 4365 is one of the highest I've seen.
Try using small fft's and see what happens![]()

Here's something I found a little strange. I have the MSI P35 mb, and was running 3 HD's, and 1 optical from the 4 ICH9 ports. I added a 4th HD and moved the optical drive to the extra marvell SATA port, which I had to enable. Hit the power, and the damn thing wouldn't boot! In the end, I had to remove a few sticks of memory and up the memory voltage by another 0.1v before it would boot with all 4 sticks.
Seems like activating the marvell port is causing a small voltage drop across the dimm ports. I guess it makes sense considering the laws of physics, but you'd think the MB would just draw more power from the PSU to support the additional requirements.
Anyway, just sharing since I thought it was a little strange (and kind of frustrating!).
Btw, kicked my FSB up to 450mhz x8 and same voltage on the CPU. This thing runs great!! Still haven't lapped it yet, and my core temps never get over 59c.

Hey guys I received the Q6600 2 days ago, the G0 L723A wich was promising and recomended here also...it's VID= 1,2875..but...
The ambient temp was 25-26C
Crucials left near stock i mean near 1066 5-5-5-15 at 2,2 to asure to test the CPU only.
Boot at 3420Mhz (380x9) vith vcore 1,35 but prime95 fails, so i have to go for 1,4 for Prime95 to stabilize, 30 mins at Smallfft's, and Largefft's also. I have pretty high temps when Prime95 is runing i mean 69 the cores and 52 CPU...
I tried going up to 3600 (400x9) and boots perfect on 1,4Vcore, but Prime95 fails in seconds...So i tried more Vcore and it also failed til 1,5 Vcore wich is kinda sad...temps are very high i mean 74 the Cores and 60 the CPU...
I have an Asus P5K dlx bios 311 and TT Big typhoon with AS5 no lapped...
Wich settings are you using guys on ASUS P5K dlx for example to go to 3,6ghz ? With version of Prime95 you use (i used 25,5) and wich test or settings on it, i never used Prime95, just orthos....
It's kinda weird that prime95 fails cause in other CPU i had the lack of vcore always was showed by reboots, etc, but this time i mean at 3,6 and 1,425vcore y can play strangehold on vista, bioshok, lost planet etc...
It can be a temp issue ? should i consider lapping ? or i just got a bad batch...
Any help will be appreciatted
Best regards
Sergio
