If any of the NB/SB/VTT, or 1.2HT voltages are TO HIGH at a given FSB, will it still work? Or is there any such thing as TO HIGH? I have an understanding of the basics of Overclocking. I've been overclocking in some form/fashion for a long time - but i have really ran out of patience with this board...... So basicly I'm looking for the readers digest version of what is working.
I built on the Striker to use a pair of 8800s in SLI to ensure i had the graphics power to run (almost) any game at the native resolution for my monitor - 2560x1600 - Dell 3007FPW.
Now it seems that nVidia has finally provided drivers that WORK with these cards on Vista. BUt now i'm at an empasse' Do i break up an SLI set to get a higher CPU overclock, or just suffer with a handicapped overclock in favor of an SLI setup? Surely there are folks here pondering this same quesiton. I guess what it would take is hours of benchmarking to see what gives the highest frame rate in real world games on each platform. If it weren't for this little thing called EVERYTHING ELSE in life, i would have that much time. And i use this machine far to much to tear it apart and go for that. So, until then, I just want a SOLID set of RAM to overclock with. Preferably 2x 2GB sticks......
