It would be interesting to compare some more complex situatons with a quad though. I haven't seen HTT performance comparisons for a long time, nor with high end video cards + xfire in the mix. If you know of any throw us a link![]()
On another note, I'm about ready to pronounce my DFI LP 590 Dead, so this board will be quite welcome if it turns up next week!
I don't know what's gone wrong but it will not save CMOS data anymore, and just refuses to boot after soft restarts. Running out of things to try. Water dmg may be the culprit.
Hey mAJORD can you tell me where you ordered yours?
It should go nicely with my 6400 that's on order.
I'm in W.A.
Thanks
EYO
They didn't have many, (well they said only 1), which hopefully I scored unless someone else ordered it between them emailing me and ordering.
Either way they're around so you shouldn't have to wait too long hopefully.
I'm back with some reports![]()
First of all BIOS F1 is a bit buggy but I can live with it for now...
HTT speed I reported was stable, I did 3DMark01 run and 06 at that settings.
Now I have some good news as for performance of this board and some not that good news regarding ATiTool working on it (under XP x64)...
The good news is:
it's rock stable and performing well at 3500MHz/1.502V with power consumption 40W lower than same configured system on nF570U!
Bad news is ATiTool 0.27b2 is blue screening my system everytime I'm trying to load it![]()

Heya lightman, try using Rivatuner 2.05?
Seems all DFI bords are buggy, unstable, die etc... Im not sure weather to take the plundge and get this New MSN 790FX or wait till the Asus 790FX wich layout i prefur![]()

I don't blame the DFI for this case, it's had a very hard life on the workbench, and been the workhorse for a few WR's, I will miss it![]()
I bit of a bump in da road for me, I get rounding errors in prime 95, blend test. At previosly stable settings... Testing Small Ftt´s know? Rounding errors is memory right? Psu new, Corsair Hx620w, rock solid! Memory is Crucial ballistic 8500 4-4-4-18 1T, 2,2v.

Could be that these bords are really too new... buggy.. maby need to wait for newer revisions .. or new bios might fix..
All Am2 mobos are 1000 (2000Mhz HT)... what is max rated for these new 790FX series?

Wow amazing stuff. Lets see how MSI's and DFI's boards compare. Although i hate MSI for the K9N Platinum. I guess the DFI board is sill a few months away unless they join the party early for a change
Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

Priming blend know as I type, First 10 min ok. Other set did not make it thru first 15 min.

Good job, thought your CPU might of been damaged![]()
Im currently 3dmark06 benching but i did 50 mins prime95 or so on my Crosshair mobo..
400x8 (3200) @ 1.524 Real
with mem @ 1067Mhz (533 Divider)
With perhaps lower divider, could you try 400fsb x 8 or 9 interested to see if this mobo likes/capable should be as im using 590SLI chipset here![]()

Donīt know what you mean here...mayby im a bit slow todayWould you like me to runn 400*8 or do you mean that youre board can do it?
Anyway. My cpu can runn 400*8 prime stable.
Have not had time to test max HTT yet. I need time to tweak my board, unlike my previous Ati board this one seams to scales with voltage. HTT and mayby 790Fx chippset likes voltage![]()

As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"
Badnizzie... for your 400x8 setting you did 3 hours or so prime stable... at what Vcore was that... Lowest Vcore i can do is 1.5V!

This proves that mobo is playing a big role for Vcore settings when OCing 6400+(compare Eddie's and BadNizze's vcore settings for the same clock).
I'm going to do what Saaya was doing so far...
Heh I'm using RivaTuner but I can't adjust vgpu to try score over 12K in 3DM06...
My personal experience with MSI was pretty good!
I have problems with Crucial D9GMH over 1000MHz+ on 4-4-4 timings and it feels like this BIOS is not yet finished to get everything possible from these sticks! On the other side this mobo is flying with 1T rate up to 950MHz+ in my case...
I also hope that new BIOS will fix all issues!
As of HTT this one is 2000 (4000MHz) ready! In other words it's HT3.0 capable ....
Nice run!![]()
Regarding DIMM slots I've tested both yellow and red ones and they seems to be same in terms of OC from our Crucials...
OK! What OS you're running? I personally would like to use ATT but it doesn't support R600 yet... ATITool was useful to OC my card to the limit, so I'm in pain without it!

Well due in no small part to what I describe here - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=162878 and that Scan is now saying it will be up to 2 weeks before the MA790FX is back in stock I have decided to pull out of my plans for an AMD AM2 based rig and attempt to get the C2D setup up and running again, So im starting my rebuild plans from scratch pretty much.
I will of corse keep an eye on this thread to see what I started be followed though by others.
That's a shame... They should sent one to you as well!
It will be wise to wait for RV670 cards and CPU decision I'm leaving to you...
CF tested!
Best 3DMark06 Score on AMD system according to ORB.... GPU clocked 780/980MHz...
49199 3DMark01
60212 3DMark03, I messed up this SS. GPU clocked 770/980MHz...
That's how it looks... Obviously can't use one out of two PCI slots.
Working like charm!
Peek power consumption 690W! That why 2 power suppliers![]()
