    Pete,

I think from the pics, it looks like you are using the blue slots, try the white, they are much more stable for me with the Ballistix

some initial testing with the P5E on water(at last).
i've also found the new bios's released to be completely flawed and unstable. the latest for the p5w resets the fsb if you change it. on a good side it gave me most of the maximus settings.
    i'm rock stable at 3.6 @29c with 1.42vcore.
my highest stable speed so far is 3.9.... i'm glad i didnt pay the extra 70 quid for the maximus now....

besides its the same board..... yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa!

    Purecain,

What is the latest Bios for the P5E? Also, are you experiencing VDroop w/ the droop setting enabled? I'm getting my P5E in the coming days...

Also, whats the highest FSB you've achieved (Or can achieve) on your chip?

OK if you want to talk about another model board move it to another thread that is for that board. just a idea

ok so its same pcb but dif bios and most likly some parts on the mobo are dif manufactures will some times make a generice board with multiple ways to layout some parts. just don't thinks the board will give a acuret view of the board this therad is about.

    current bios and date for P5E 10/12/2007 08:18PM 1,256,237 P5E0203.zip
current bios and date for Maximus formula 10/17/2007 02:27PM 816,836 MF0505.zip
both date and size are not same,

You're not the favorite of your neighbors, right?

It's the same board, pal, under different branding (no R.O.G.) and with less extra - but if he's ahead of us in BIOS versioning then we can figure out what's coming, genius...

Just to interject something....Maximus is far sexier than the p5e

Anyways 0505 rocks, went from having to pump 1.4875v into my quad, to 1.4250 (stressing now, 6hours in)... I didnt try 1.4v probably should have but heres current settings.

    CPU - 1.425v
    PLL - 1.6v
    NB - 1.49v
    FSB - 1.4v
    CPU ref - .63x
    NB ref - AUTO
    Load Line Calibration - Enabled

OK guys something i came across, i found out 5:6 gave me a higher bandwidth with a lower frequency, 1021 is faster at 5:6 than 1066 with 4:5. lower latency as well.

Gotta test that new bios, If I could get my 9x445MHz FSB stable with Q6600 G0.
BTW, is there working Asus Probe II for Vista X64?

And does Vista have ICH9R Raid drivers or do I have to slipstream them or something?

Hi, as far as my experiances went I didn't have to load any drivers for ICH9R, but I was using ICH8R before, which are within Vista, didn't even have to perform a fresh install...

The version of Probe that's on the DVD works fine...
