That is hideous. I have no issue running a pair of older WD Cavs in RAID0. Actually boots quickly. Which headers are you using?

As long as the memory is of high quality and not D9gkx based a person should be good to go. The issue is D9gkx and the P35 chipset.

This board runs well on a lot of ram, My CellShock has been perfect as well as my G Skill the only issue I had was my Corsair C3D.

    3.2GHZ ok !

    Hey it's me again ...

I did my signature now heh.

Well, 8 hour prime 95 v2.55 and 0 errors ... but my temp was a bit more than what I tough

    it was like 59 - 54 - 54 - 59 in CoreTemp ... 49 in SG

PWM and Chipset were at 50-53 in SG

I guess it still ok temp tho

Tonight gonna primer95 at 3.4GHZ and see ... I would like to hit 3.6 but I think it will be a bit hot .. will see

when my OC is 100% done and I'm happy with it I'll post pic of my setup for the ppl who likes to see pics

Ho also, is it better to have higher FSB .. or lower ?

I mean right now I'm at 9*350 something like that ... is it better to put 8 * 400 ? if yes why ?

    Thanks !

    Well well, it's looking good

Hey, me again .. you guys are probably tired but I like to give some news about my OC

I pushed the FSB to something near 385 ... to make it 3.5GHZ total

Didn't touched the cpu, ram, nb, sb voltage at all .. same voltage I had at 3.2

Went to eat so I deceided to run Prime95 v2.55 again

Came back 2 hours later, temps was about the same as when I was at 3.2 .. maybe 1-2 degrees more .. and no error in 2 hours .. I know 2 hours isin't enough but when I'll go sleep I'll make it run for another 8-10 hours.

But hey, it's looking good to hit my 3.6GHZ

I have been playing about trying to get 1T too work & found something strange.... 1T wont clock past 800mhz 2T goes ok but when you set 3T in BIOS CPU-Z shows 1T yet the performance is exactly the same as 2T.

Is this a bug? all comments welcome.

im using SATA ports 1+2. yeah its bloody slow, like i said a single 200gb SATA on P965 is qucker.

its not that im bothered about from power button to boot but the time the Windows logo is up for it is able to scroll the loading bar about 6 times. only 2 times on the mrs rig.

A better measure of performance difference would be using Everest. Note the difference in read, write and latency.

I wasn't using PI as my benchmark I just used those pics to show that CPU-Z was displaying 1T & 2T.

Here are a couple of Everest memory benchmark pics showing my point that 1T & 2T as CPU-Z shows it 2T & 3T as I set in BIOS perform identicaly.... this cant be right what gives ?

Got another board back from RMA. Seems to be working ok now. Was a little rough to get it to post since it seems to hate my Mushkin XP2 PC2-8500 4x1gb modules. Had to try each stick individually until one would post, then I upped the voltage on the DIMMs and put all 4 in.

Havent tried overclocking yet, I'll post some results when I get around to it.

Oh, and has anyone had experience with 4x1gb crucial ballistix 8500 on this board? I have some coming in on tuesday

Try some other dividers, both 266 and 333 strap along with other multipliers to see if the results are the same. Also 3T may be broke with that BIOS version or all versions. I have never tried it. And I won't be able to for a few days.

Might want to get with the guys from Mushkin and see if they will rewrite the SPD for you. There is no reason why the board should not boot with 2 sticks installed at default settings. I have been through OCZ, Corsair, Cell Shock and Crucial form 6400 to 9200 and not one set has failed to boot at default settings.

CPU-Z is reporting incorrect CPU speeds (3GHz instead of 4GHz). It's showing the multiplier at 6, rather than at 8. The BIOS reports it properly. What am I missing here?

C1E is enabled in BIOS thats all nothing to worry about.

I have tried all the straps & the 8 & 9 multipliers & the results are the same no measurable improvement... what I mean is I would expect a little more performance from 1T if indeed the board was running 1T.

It appears setting 3T in BIOS to get 1T in CPU-Z is a tiny bit more stable than 2T & will allow me another 14 or so mhz on the RAM with like for like settings & voltage.

I remember playing with 3T on my ICFX a while back but I don't remember if 3T registered in CPU-Z. I wonder if its a CPU-Z issue have you ever seen 3T displayed in CPU-Z ?

Asked this a while back and never saw an answer. What waterblock for the NB and for those watercooling their chipset, how do you then handle the areas (SB, etc.) now exposed by removing the heatpipe assembly?

haven't seen anyone watercooled their NB/SB on this mobo...but saw someone using Swiftech blocks on the LT-version.

You can water-cool both the NB and SB easily.... The NB can use a MCW30, and the SB can use a Danger Den Maze4.

They are working very well on my board.

    Cheers..
