Probably doesn't support 2900XT flashing but that doesn't make sense, anyone who benches CF with these cards use the BIOS to set clocks. Hmm, I'll read up a bit on it later.

the problem is that with CCC and AMD GPU Clock Tool v0.7 you are not able to overclock the cards @ CF mode. There is only one way to oc the cards atm and this one is very strange

    http://www.nordichardware.com/Reviews/?skrivelse=516

so the best way is to flash the cards with a higher chip and mem clock because than havnt got to oc in windows

so if someone has got an XT bios with hihger clocks for example 800/950 or 850/1000 i would be glad to get these

Your 2900XT should have came with a black slip thing that says HL2 Black Box on it. Open it up, your key is in it.

Overclocked BIOSes are available only to selected group of people at the moment

Only chance if you kindly ask persons with these BIOSes but they are under NDA and I wouldn't put high hopes on that....

How high do you guys think I should try?

I'm 100% stable at 831/996 and only maxing temps at 71c. I played the UT3 demo at maxed settings for about 30 mins and it was smooth as silk. I looked at the temps log and the max was 71c. How high should I try taking this thing?

See how it does around 850. Infer this is stock cooling? How and how long did you test for stability other than that UT3 session?

I am going to quit gaming so much and try to find my max OC this weekend. In my limited testing 825 made the fur benchmark lock but I had some voltage settings in my mobo BIOS a bit on the low end at the time so that could have been it.

    Hi Guys,

Got my Sapphire HD2900pro last monday! I did not have much time to test it to the limit, but it looks great for sure...

Daily System, un-tweaked, and card unmoded in any aspect:

I use it 24/7 @850mhz core and 1000mhz ddr, 100% stable... It goes a little bit far, but i still have to test it.

Anyway, great card for the money it cost...

Really nice considering your clocks. Have you flashed your card to XT (using which bios?) or you're using the HIS pro bios? If so could you upload it?

Very nice indeed. Does the cooler have 2 or 3 heatpipes? My card should arrive October 20th.

    Great

Just running XT BIOS with a simple, EZ OC of 800/900 in CCC. Don't need higher, don't want higher.. it's stable, and I don't need to use third party apps.

Agreed but for what I paid for this card I'm only complaining cause some 512s had decent bundles. Have even seen mention of black box included but not directly from any horse's mouth

This is on stock cooling. I'll try 850 sometime over the weekend and see how it works. It was completely stable under UT3 and a run of 3dmark06.

I was a little mad to find my HIS only came with a voucher for hl-deathmatch and lost coast. But like you said, I'm pleased with what I got for the money. The odd thing was that the "black box" sticker was on my 2900pro box but it was covered with another sticker that said deathmatch and lost coast.

i played through doom 3 with 24xAA and 16xAF at 860/999 for about 45 min.. i know its not a stress test... but it sure did good as hell.. these things are mad overclockers...

i just recently installed the 2900xt drivers today.. imma try to do some benchmarking.. my best score on the pro drivers with my fx62 @ 2.84 ghz was 10200... so lets see if i can take that higher with some xt drivers

and as for taking memory over 999, i wouldnt do so unless your going really high, because the timings loosen up when you go to 1000 and up

transistor, try running at 999 and see if your score is higher... i've ran it at 1100 and my score went down...
