Thanks Synthetic, it's one of the things that sold me on the Horizon as well. If I'm spending all this money on my PC, I want to be able to display it easily. Also, I like the fact that the 8800GTX's with the heavy EK blocks aren't trying to rip the PCI-E slots out of their sockets.
Xilicon, the fan mod is extremely easy. Just start peeling up the corner of the sticker and it comes right off. It doesn't even leave glue residue on the fan, it's easy to pull off.
shazza, make sure you submit your build for the MM gallery!
bleachigo, that's true up to a point. I'm actually pretty much out of room in my case!

RX7Boricua, buddy,
Do me a favor please. In your left optical bay is a fan adapter from MM. I've been meaning to buy two of those. Please eyeball and tell me if you think a PA120.1 or some smaller single radiator (maybe Swiftech) can fit within the confines of that optical bay cage. It would be nice if the optical bay cage can be gotten rid of, but I don't see how that's possible if the fan adapter mounts on the cage itself. I just don't want to buy stuff and then find out that it doesn't fit. I can't get a straight answer from anyone, so your help is much appreciated.
I'll save him some time.
You will not be able to fit a fan to the radiator and attach it to the fan adapter. You could however mount the fan in the adapter and somehow fasten the radiator to the cage itself. Another option that we have, but that isn't shown online is an acrylic cover plate that would substitute the the entire cage. This would allow you to mount any number of single 120mm radiators to that fan port.
very nice job....love the MM cases!

woohoo i'll order one now...It fits all I have one for my build. I also removed all the stickers on it. They look awful. Now it's all black and looks nice and clean.
Is it loud????
There's only 1 type yeah?

Thanks MM for stepping in and answering for me. IanY, you can always toss a small single 120mm rad on the motherboard tray fan. I believe ranker had a setup like that for a bit, but he changes his stuff around on a weekly basis. :P
Thanks Grinch and Patriote! Pat, I'm keeping a close eye on your build, it will definitely kick butt. Just remember, attention to detail is key!
disruptfarm, the Corsair fan attaches to the white RAM slot latches, so it will fit with any ram unless it's of the really tall heatpiped variety. I have mine connected to the CPU fan header, and I run it at 60%. It's not loud at all. You can hear a slight whirring with the panels off, but that goes away as soon as you button everything up. The stickers come of easily, and they don't leave any glue residue on the fan module at all. I think it looks much better without them.
Also, my G.Skill ram on my old AR revision board would start erroring in memtest at anything over 866mhz. Now I'm running it at 1000mhz with only 2.125V! I originally thought the ram was bad, turns out it was just the old crappy AR board! I just bought a multimeter last night, my next move will be to Vmod my GTX's. I really wanna break 20K 3Dmarks! Finding 20K ohm VRs out here will be a pita though, I will most likely need to source them online.

That's correct. At one point, I had 4 radiators in my Horizon. I was able to fit a PA120.1 on the motherboard tray 120mm fan and it cleared everything. However, it becomes a bit cramped. Another thing I tried was to move the "original top" to the side panel. I was able to get enough space to add a PA120.1 radiator in that configuration was well. If there was a reason to do so, you should be able to fit 5 radiators and still have room for optical drives: 3 radiators similar to the config in my machine and then 2 additional PA120.1's on the the motherboard tray and on a MM Original Top panel mounted on the side.

hmm that's a crammed looking horizon if ranker mounts everything inside...
ranker,
I see that you have the acryic fan panel (that replaces the optical cage) on your Horizon that MountainMods described, and that you have mounted what looks to be a PA120.1. I see that the black acrylic seems to blend in well with the finish of the case. I trust that you have had a good experience with that? I already have a PA120.1 mounted on the mobo tray backplane. Its just not enough for me, but I don't have an "original top." I don't understand how you guys are satisfied with having 2 or 3 radiators. Yes, perhaps I'm anal to the umpteenth degree, but everything runs super hot in mine and its like a baker's oven. I can cook thanksgiving turkey in it.

Time for a thanksgiving case then? I would've thought Cosmo's SLR, in Computer Cases, would've started you thinking of a newie by now.
I suspect there's a law of diminishing returns with internal mount rad numbers. After approx three they're getting in each others' way to such an extent it's a game of passing hot air around in any non-purpose built case.
Very nice clean build!!

you probably already answered this, but what dye did you use to get that awesome blue color in your tubing? I'm using the g11 dye from petras and it's not really all that blue...
Thanks dr4gon!
jinsean, I'm using regular ol' Pentosin G11 UV Blue from Petra's. I'm swapping my GTX's for some Ultras here pretty soon, and I may change my GPU loop coolant. It's still up in the air at this point. I may go with distilled + PTS clear UV blue + PTNuke.

hey big spender!!!! something something something (i don't the words lol)
Are you getting the ultra's due to the higher clocking ability...??
I would thought 2 gtx's would be more than enough for 24inch....
Or are you getting for benchmark's?
I see your running dual monitor's...Does using dual monitor's tax the gfx card more??? or is the image just stretched out??
cheers
The only reason why I'm going with Ultras is because I was presented with the opportunity to upgrade for about 50 bucks US. I love seeing how high I can push my stuff, and I've made the top 10 in the XS Hardwarebot rankings for 3DMark06, but I'm "barely" there.
I was talking to one of my employees the other day, the one that recently gave me an E6600 and my MSI P35 Platinum for OCing his machine as well as those of his Kuwaiti friends. He told me that his Kuwaiti friends are always looking to upgrade, and he sells his machines to them without really losing any money. (PC hardware is insanely expensive out here.)
Anyway, the other day I hit 19K+ 3DMarks, and we started talking about how I was thinking about Vmodding my GTX's to push them higher. He asked me why don't I just replace the GTX's with a pair of Ultras. I explained that the added expense didn't justify the added performance. He proceeds to tell me that he's selling his current rig (which I OC'd for him), and that he'll give me his EVGA Ultra for my XFX GTX, even swap, as his friend doesn't care which 8800 it will have. This intrigued me, and I told him that I'd have to buy a second Ultra to replace the second GTX which I'd have to sell. He replied with, "I'll find you a buyer for that one." That night, he txts me and tells me that his other friend wants my second GTX, and will give me 150 Kuwaiti Dinar for it, or about $540 US.
Basically, I did the math, and decided to buy an EVGA Ultra from Tigerdirect for $650 shipped.
$650 - 3% Fatwallet discount $18 - Free Quake Wars: Enemy Territory $45 - $540 for my GTX = $47 out of my pocket.
And that's the long story of why I'm upgrading to dual 8800Ultras!
To answer your questions, yes I want to be able to overclock them higher than what I have now. I run dual monitors, but I run my left monitor with the dual 8800's in SLI, and my right monitor I run off an ATI Radeon X300. The right one is just for temp monitoring, etc. or for extra real estate while multitasking. It works great!

RX7Boricua,
Enjoy the video cardsThe next round will be a whole lot more obnoxious in terms of price.. triple head SLI, which means that you'll need to buy three GF9s and DDR3 (of course in addition to new cpu and new mobo) plus maybe PPU version 2 card if you want to remain in the 3D Mark leaderboard.
