    The overclock.net post was mine

I've been reading the debate on the Lanfest RAM. I created the thread at overclock.net and I have to say, these modules really impressed me. Upon request from other members, I ran 5 passes of memtest at DDR2 1240 speeds at 2.15v with 5-5-5-15 2T timings. Whatever the debate is over, the point still remains, these modules are awesome overclockers. I'm picking up another pair to see if they match the my current modules, or if the pair I got was just luck. I'll post an update then.

Wouldn't mind it being CPU-Z validated.

    Here is a screenshot. DDR2 1200 @ 2.15v 5-5-5-15 2T 3 Hrs Memtest and 1 Hr Orthos!

edit: Bios set to 2.15v, Everest Ultimate showing 2.16v:

Update: I just ordered a second pair (Oct 04, 07) to test for everyone. If they overclock the same, I am either extremely lucky, or they are in fact higher binned modules!

I have a pair. I have a Quad so high FSB testing is out, but I will try how high I can get with 4/4/4/12 timings.

just use your memory dividers in bios. ie 400 at 2/3 is 600, 300 at 1/2 600..etc.

does anyone know what the warranty are on these. it does not say on newegg's site and I couldnt find them on crucials site, probably cause they are a newegg exclusive. they are a little bit more expensive than the regular ballistix, but sounds like its worth the extra cost to get better ram
according to the newegg reviews, they overclock better than the regular ballistix line

Careful, EOD (ericeod) might take offense to that post.

Pros: I bought these to replace 2 GB of ProMos based RAM. I've now got these running DDR2 1200 at 5-5-5-15-2T 2.15v. These are the best RAM I've ever seen. Great job Crucial!

    Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These are paired with an EVGA 680i A1 board and an E6600 CPU. This makes for a killer combination at 3.7GHz, 411 FSB DDR2 1200.

These Lanfest seem to be as well as the 8500 BallistiX for OC'ing

Yes, that's correct. Unfortunately they don't ship to international buyers.

Bad, they would be perfect for my memory-changing project.

The ballistiX 8500 are too expensive in germany.

Let's hope that the Teamgroup Xtreem 1066 CL5 DIMMs go as far as the Ballistix.

Sometimes even bright people look stupid next to someone who knows what they're talking about. This thread is a dud at best with maybe a slim chance of irev210 saving it.........
The little air system that could.

    Speaking of irev210...

A quick down & dirty review of his LanFest modules is posted here.

"The second pair would only go up to 1120 at 2.15v. I have my computer apart as I am switching cases and upgradeing the pump and tubeing. I'll do some more benches when it is finished."

My take on all of this...
I'm sure that with add'l voltage they will scale, but by all appearances, certainly not the results you would associate with "hand picked" modules...in other words, a typical, good performing set of Crucial Ballistix, but with a different set of heatspreaders on them.

    r00n,

Did you happen to miss what he posted under the pic?

I am going to post a pic of some Ballistix 8500 and make some speculations also! har har.
I believe that the pic is of his 8500, not the Lanfest sticks because later, in post #20, he posts that he expects his sticks to ARRIVE on Thursday...clearly he doesn't have them yet, therefore, couldn't have taken a pic of them.

At any rate... I will test against ballistix 8500/8000 and this stuff. My lanfest "uber" sticks arrive thursday.
