Looks like a way for Nvidia to get rid of all the 680i chipsets that didn't sell.
Well after owning the Abit 680i crap (twice burned) I am finally ultra stable with my quad at 400FSB and 3.6Ghz and it happened so easily. I am sure I can push it even further but I don't bother yet since the mosfets would need further cooling too. (SB, NB< watercooled now)
But everyone is saying 680i is, if so then show me a better platform to run my monitor @ 2560x1600 with two overclocked 8800 GTxs (or ultras)? Which is this? The 680i and the EVGA is good at this task.
So for the time being THE FASTEST GAMING platform is this; simple as that.
Beggars cant be choosers. 680i is crap compared to Intel chipsets, but its the only one that you can run SLI on. So some of you are stuck with it. If nvidia allowed SLI on Intel boards I can assure you that they would perform on par with nvidia parts, if not better. No one in their right mind would buy a 680i board then.
