Oscilloscope. I already had it hooked up and it's more accurate then a volt meter. Smart Guardian is that far off on my board.
The important part of that voltage control is the CPU PLL. It sets the voltage for the clock generation phase lock loop. When the processor gets close to it's FSB wall increasing this voltage can help push it further.

I get 2.22v Idle in SG also I made Boo Boo before! Also on my board Bios reads 2.27v when 2.270v set in Bios.

Since I flashed to 9/13 bios the one thing I have noticed, is CPU VTT and NB volts I have been able to reduce, just listed the settings below for people to look over, will hard set the subs according to memset once I have finished mem testing, and possibly reduce the voltages even further, for now im quite happy with the CPU and MEM speeds.

Fired up my board today to do some benching and I noticed my ln2 container is really having a hard time keeping up with the temp.... After looking around, I found out my cpu vtt was at 2.25vat default settings... got the same reading from bios and SM and I dont think its a sensor glitch too cos like I said my cpu is hotter than it should be.... anybody had this happen? cleared cmos and even reflashed but still the same
, just waiting for everything to thaw out so I can reseat the cpu and see if it helps....
It depends on alot of factors but I would imagine 4:5 will be better cos itll give you a higher fsb.... with the HW and OC in your sig though maybe 2:3 will be better cos it gives the highest ram freq while staying within the tighestest strap, but you can do your own test and see which gives you the highest bandwidth...

Esau, I haven't really ran it through the paces yet. School and work and all that...but let me know what settings you are trying to run at and I'll see if I can replicate them and report any problems. Are you getting Memtest errors, stability problems?
I originally bought these sticks to run with a Commando and got a lot of info from i4memory. You might want to check out Jaffa's Asus Commando/Cellshock thread on i4memory. It might give you very general idea on what volts you might need. One thing I will say is that I did need to pump more voltage into the NB on a 1066 strap.
I am starting to agree with some others on the theory that its a BIOS/Ram situation! This board is freeking Awesome no doubt but the lengths that you must go to get High Ram MHZ 4-4-4-12 4:5 is frigging ridiculous to say the least! These finding that concur with some others, is all attributed to Quad Core O.C also the Usual D.F.I Picky Ram Specific Boards that they are![]()
I just Paid $300.00 for this Kit of Cell Shock (PC2 8000) 4-4-4-12 only to find that this board really prefers high Ram MHZ of the 5-5-5-15 flavor which could have saved me $80.00 if I would have bought the Cell Shock (PC2 8000) 5-5-5-15 set instead![]()
At this point I am thinking it really Boils down to a Bios Update: that will permit such scalability with such tight programmed moduals because there are a few others that have posted in this thread that have $300.-$400.00 Cell Shock & Team Group kits that are having a rough go with this board because as it stands I had no love with my Crucial Ballistix Tracers either even though eva2000 has done extensive testing with really great results on this board![]()

I get no errors in MemTest 1.70 and 333 x 9 set in Bios and Ram Ramped up 1003MHZ 2:3 = Auto I can Blend for hrs with just a very tiny increase in NB 1.4V and 1.31 CPU VTT @ UNDER 2.1 Vdimm in Bios ....But throw a Q6600 O.C in the mix and it requires just a ton of Voltage across the Board![]()
So what I think on this is that it just Doubles the strain on the Memory Controller NB due to the Quad Core Overclockunless you rock the 1:1 divider that is
