That makes sense then. I'm on an e6600 and had no trouble playing around at 4-4-4-12. I replicated your settings, 8x425, at 1066 with minimal bump in NB volts.Makes me leery about upgrading to a quad core on this board...

BTW, I got my Cellshocks for $260 US, overnighted from an outfit in Ireland.

I have not pushed that hard. Running at 8 x 400 very smooth.

Are the temps in Smart Guardianto be believed? According that utility I am running at ambient. My intake on the Xternal cooler is 20.5C and I am fluctuating between 19-21C. Core .95 temp shows 30c 30c 31c 3c for the cores.

hi,i am new here..i got some question want to ask about this motherboard..(am i wrong post at here)
I decided to buy a new motherboard and now still confuse want to choose between P35 or X38 because i planning to run dual graphic card in next coming 1 years. So i need some suggestion from some professional forumer at here.I should take the P35 board or wait for the release of X38 board since the X38 is running 2x 16x PCIE (correct me if i am wrong).
Thank you for taking your time to read my question and thank for the helping..thank you very much.

X38 will be Dual X 16 Bandwidth and 1 X8 Lane as well.
What do you need two GFX Cards for these days unless its to keep warm in the Winter time? Personally If you have not bought the Graphics Cards yet I would suggest one of these Monster Overclocking P35 from D.F.I and get a 8800 GTX or Ultra or a Single ATI 2900 XTX

From what is shown so far......X38 really only shows very slight advantage over P35 less the added PCI-E 2.0 Bandwidth 2 X 16 1 X8 lanes. D.F.I X38 is due to launch in October in case you are wondering/

UPDATE:......For those of us that have been having issues with Cell Shock and Team Group Ram I am afraid that I have bad news for the Cadillac of Memory Owners!

This is what I have posted up at DFIclub and Raja and Praz have the same Ram that I do and we are all left with the same conclusion so far....which is A: Either a Bios Issue or B: PCB/IC or SPD Programming incompatibility at current time.

Hmmmm....I thought this was going to be the case!

I have been playing around with this Ram with E6600 and yet it is exhibiting the same behavior with dual core as it did with Quad Core so far it shows same...so far!

It does not like the 333/800 divider at all and the 266/667 is questionable at best, although its rather fond of High FSB @ 1:1 and it Runs like a Raped Ape at those settings but 4:5 / 5:4 it aint having none of it not even with this E6600 in it seems that it wants 2.32Vdimm just to chug along at 1075MHZ 4-4-4-12 430 FSB which is Insane because I can get much cheaper Ram that will give me all the Love I can stand Running at those Voltages!

Gotta tell ya I'm rather disappointed dropping $330.00 on this Ram when my $100.00 G-Skills did the same just about and my Crucial Ballistix Tracer (PC2 8500) 5-5-5-15 was the same deal absolutely NO love on the Dividers!

Why? For example, there's any problem with this mobo and Teamgroup DDR2 Xtreem PC2-8500 2GB Kit (TXDD2048M1066HC5DC)?

check and compare the team/cellshock memory's SPD profile against the crucial ballistix SPD profile using SPDTool

The sets we are using have seen 1200MHz on other boards. At this point it does not appear to be a SPD issue. As Raja stated in his post at DFIClub we have both tried numerous SPDs with no difference shown. Besides flashing random SPDs we have used SPDs from memory personally known to function fine with this board.

We will have to sit tight for a few days and see what those in-the-know have to say.

Maybe due to cellshock ram having 8 layer PCB ?? Maybe need different clk fine delay values ?

is this true? i'm using Team Xtreem Rams DDR-1300mhz & i seem to be experiencing lock-ups, resetting my system once in a while. thought it was a vid problem.

Could be. We have tried all kinds of different combinations of settings. But if it comes down to each setting having to be at one particular point as you are well aware it could take days if not weeks to find that combination.

    Hi, George

I cannot do that because I played Santa Clause and gave away my new set of Crucial Ballistix Tracer (PC2 8500) 5-5-5-12 as a gift towards a friend

I am sorry it was late (5:00am) and I had been up all day and night troubleshooting my Cell Shock on this board and it was Unfair to Include TeamXtreem Ram into that Classification along with what I have!

Please except my apologies I have been reading about some issues on this thread revolving around TeamXtreem Ram/ D.F.I T2R P35 so I took it for granted that it is the same situation and that was wrong of me because I do not have any TeamXtreem Ram to Validate that statement Once again I am sorry and it was late and 24hrs head on with this board I guess scrambled my judgment!

On a more Positive note the Ram Boots and Functions fine its just that the overclockibility end is not so great at this time which is a bummer, but I feel confident that a Proper Bios Update will correct this!

@M33K, 1m won't show up the issue, 32m might and prime blend definitely will.. Even with more modest clocks on both ram and cpu..

1 stick on it's own works great (either of the pair) and can probably out clock anything I have, just needs some work it seem @ bios level, to improve overclocking ability and more stable use when scaling for everyday use.

    regards

Please also check for Vdimm @ 425 x 8 ....RAM @ Same settings above

Those are pretty typical results for this board when using a 500+ FSB capable dual core processor and non Cell Shock memory.

Memtest 1.70 passes 20 Passes Test 5 - 8 without Issue but at those settings that Pass Memtest 1.70 it Fails at Prime Blend ....."Weird"!

will do as soon as I can. Both my sticks on their own in the board fly.. Have not toyed down low with the board for a few days now, as I am working on higher fsbs and straps with the Flex. I have a run I am pushing out tonight, so will try tomorrow and see what happens. Bedtime now need my 'ugly' sleep..
