ok, sorry for taking this thread back to the stone age...
i noticed folks are posting their bios settings... is it some programs that lists it out for you or do you keep note and manually type all that info in there?
i do find it quite useful in trying to make some sense out of it but just trying to get a crash course in learning the DFI board before it gets here...
thanks...

Yep: I never got over playing with erector sets
Lol not sure--I stole it off an AMD heatsink.
I dunno about the plate between CPU/WB but it will be easy enough to try.
I guess the T-piper works: the chipset temps are 10C lower than my hotblooded P5K deluxe.
I am seeing good times on the WUs...averaging 8 minutes to finish one percent of a SMP Gromacs at 3200--that's a tad faster than the P5K at the same rate..with faster RAM...hmmmm...time for more tweaking![]()

Just flash to the latest. If you are flashing to the 09/13 BIOS do not use CMOS Reloaded settings from a previous BIOS. This is alway a good practice but is important with this new BIOS. Enough has been changed that attempting to use stored setting from a previous BIOS may result in a no-boot condition or a corrupted BIOS.
I actually did wind up trying that... In the end I took it off though. It did seem to lower the pwm and nb temps a few degrees, and raise the CPU a few, not much difference though. I took it off because the n/b and pwm are not at all hot without it running as spec'd in my sig, and my CPU needed all the help it could get to hit 4ghz stable.

I have and use it that way. From a engineering point of view its completely logical in theory and in practice. I most certainly feel that it would excel as a all in one complete cooling package used in conjunction with a D-TEK Fusion block on the CPU it will increase you're cpu temps by 2-3c but also allow you're more critical areas to run much cooler as a direct result.
A few pages back Pc2Decimal posted extensive testing in all combinations with this Transpiper cooling system and his results and effort speak for themselves.![]()

hey guys,
i asked allready in i4memory.com forum if anyone got 1t working with this mobo cause im allways stuck before i can even enter the bios again...
so i wonder if its just some of my settings or if its just not possible to make it run 1t (i know i know...it doesnt make much of a difference but this is XTREMEsystemsnot some site where they tell you the best price/performance stuff
) anyways
my bios template is:
attached you can see where i get stuck when using either combination of settings with 1T enabled...sorry for the image quality but...it looked so sharp till i loaded it on to my pcCode:CPU Feature - Thermal Management Control: enabled - PPM(EIST) Mode: enabled - Limit CPUID MaxVal: Disabled - CIE Function: auto - Execute Disable Bit: enabled - Virtualization Technology: enabled - Core Multi-Processing: enabled Exist Setup Shutdown: Mode 2 CLOCK VC0 divider: AUTO CPU Clock Ratio: 8x - Target CPU Clock: 3200 CPU Clock: 400 Boot Up Clock: auto DRAM Speed: 333/667 - Target DRAM Speed: 801 PCIE Clock: 100mhz Voltage Settings CPU VID Control:1,375 CPU VID Special Add:auto DRAM Voltage Control:2,1 SB 1.05V Voltage:1,07 SB Core/CPU PLL Voltage:1,55 NB Core Voltage:1,45 CPU VTT Voltage:1,2 Vcore Droop Control: disabled Clockgen Voltage Control: 3.45v GTL+ Buffers Strength: Strong Host Slew Rate: Weak GTL REF Voltage Control: enabled x CPU GTL1/3 REF Volt: 48 x CPU GTL 0/2 REF Volt: 48 x North Bridge GTL REF Volt: 110 DRAM Timing - Enhance Data transmitting: Turbo - Enhance Addressing: Fast - T2 Dispatch: Auto Clock Setting Fine Delay Ch1 Clock Crossing Setting: Aggressive - DIMM 1 CLK fine delay: Current [14] - DIMM 2 CLK fine delay: Current [6] - Ch 1 Command fine delay: Current [10] - Ch 1 Control fine delay: Curent [5] Ch2 Clock Crossing Setting: Aggressive - DIMM 3 CLK fine delay: Current [13] - DIMM 4 CLK fine delay: Current [5] - Ch 2 Command fine delay: Current [9] - Ch 2 Control fine delay: Curent [4] Ch1Ch2 CommonClock Setting: Aggressive Ch1 RDCAS GNT-Chip Delay: Auto Ch1 WRCAS GNT-Chip Delay: Auto Ch1 Command to CS Delay: Auto [tried setting 1T but doesnt boot then, cmosclear was needed to get back) Ch2 RDCAS GNT-Chip Delay: Auto Ch2 WRCAS GNT-Chip Delay: Auto Ch2 Command to CS Delay: Auto [same as above] CAS Latency Time (tCL): 4 RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD):4 RAS# Precharge (tRP):3 Precharge Delay (tRAS):8 All Precharge to Act: AUTO4 REF to ACT Delay (tRFC): AUTO24 Performance LVL (Read Delay) (tRD): 7 Read delay phase adjust: Enter [all auto] MCH ODT Latency: AUTO Write to PRE Delay (tWR): 10 Rank Write to Read (tWTR): 10 ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD): 3 Read to Write Delay (tRDWR): 8 Ranks Write to Write (tWRWR): 4 Ranks Read to Read (tRDRD): 5 Ranks Write to Read (tWRRD): 4 Read CAS# Precharge (tRTP): 3 ALL PRE to Refresh: AUTO PCIE Slot Config: 1X 1X CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled SATA Spread Spectrum: Disabled(no im not good at taking pictures..even my wife complains lol)
thanks a lot for the input and as stated above, i know its not that much of a difference, but, even if its just 1 point difference its "faster" to meand dont forget...to be honest this is DFI, not gigabyte
i wouldnt care about gigabyte not beeing able to run 1t, but this board is a whole different world to me
looking forward to seeing someone actually running with 1t (or i might have to either hope for a new bios or...rather give up my goal)

dpgo815, try loose timings such as 5-5-5-18 with 1t also change turbo to fast and common clock settings to auto then raise n/b to 1.65 and save and try to boot. start loose then try to tighten timings slowly till you find the limit of your ram.

did you have it running 1t on your board? (im just wondering) cause i tried 5-5-5-18 i tried all auto aswell..went up to 2.35vdimm and 1.65 nb, but i allways get the same spot where it stops...
my ram is running 500mhz 2t 4-4-4-8 aswell if i push the volts up that high, and i had it running 1t on the p5k deluxe before at 400mhz 4-4-4-12 with 2.25vdimm, i mean you cant compare those 2 boards really cause with the dfi board i get better bandwidth with t2 than i did with the p5k del. when i used 1t...
but thats what actually makes me want that 1t so much8.2k read in everest aint something i aint happy about, but imagine with 1t
![]()
im starting to think it might have something to do with the bios or something, cause i didnt see anyone actually stating or showing a screeny, that they ran 1t with this board, i just read andre yang explaining where to set it and how u might get better 1t overclocks.
maybe im wrong though and im just way too disabled to make it work(just for info, this has cost me several sleepless nights allready
)
^^ now you can try esau i wonder if you can make 1t work or if you have the same problem, i never give up hope heheehehh

What is usual voltage with this Ram @ 4-4-4-12 /266/667 @ 1064mhz X8 Multi 425 FSB
I have it set to 2.270Vdimm in Bios but Smart Guardian reads 2.2vwhich is accurate reading of Voltage on this Board Bios or SG?
