I recently made my dfi lanparty p35

    Q6600 GO stepping

    1xWD Raptor
    2xradeon 2600XT

I just updated my BIOS but i was wondering if someone can give me a tip o exactly a list of what should i change to have only (i dont ask for more) 3.2ghz in my processor and the correct settings for a Cas4 memory
    thanks a lot!

I know these sticks run fine on other bits of kit, so something isn't right.

About to return this board, but anyone else here having issues with running memtest?

I had an awful time with my memory. Did 31h Prime Small FFT's with no problem at 9*400 with Ram at 800 Mhz, Tried a blend and it died in less than a minute.

Did not have any luck until I tried the 9/13 bios and set "T2 Dispatch = Disable". Now been running blend for almost 12 hours at 8*450 with Ram at 1080.

Once Blend does 24h I will give the Small FFT's another go and move up the MHz using blend first, since this DFI seems to have more problem with Ram settings then Max O/C.

3.4ghz 333/667 All you need to do is set you're Vcore around 1.32v Raise NB vcore 1.45v
CPU VTT 1.35 disable vdroop control Enable GTL ref voltage leave at 94-94-100 set primary memory timings and do a bunch of reading and then do allot more reading after that!

Keep in mind those voltage settings "should" get you going but.......everything goes by individual Hardware basis and no guarantees what works for me or anyone else will work for you! You also may find that you're processor does not need that much vcore or it may need quite a bit more and only you will know when you try!

My DFI just arrived...this is weird, none of my fans are turning...the board, hard drive, vid card, & everything else is running except for all the fans...

& the case power & reset switch aren't working too...had to press the board's power & reset switch to turn it on...

    any ideas???

Prime95 Blend test on VISTA 64 bit

    Hi, all.

Finally, found some time to set up the new mobo with all the rest.

My first impression of the board is great, after using P5N32E-SLI for 6 months with QX6700 trying to OC .

680I is a great gaming SLI chipset but far not the best Quad overclocker – IMHO. I could only past 330-340 FSB on my QX6700 (B1 SE).
DFI P35-T2R reminds me (like many of us I guess), the old good DFI Expert 939 horse - nice & solid .

    Back to the problem .
On my stand board assebling, I had a dual boot - XP SP2 32bit with Vista Ultimate 32bit. All the benchs were made on the XP OS till I stopped on 470*7. After reinstalling the raid massive, I decided to install Vista Ultimate 64 bit to work with. Everything looks good up to date, till I decided to re check my overclock stability and raise/low the settings.
As mentioned all the previous settings were made in the bios while testing/benching on XP prior to reinstalling the new RAID0. Now only Vista Ultimate 64 bit is installed.

Vista Installation , SuperPI ~32Mb, 3DMARK 03/05/06, Lost Planet DX10 19x12 highest settings gameplay for hours, Everest Benchs all are good and stable.

Prime95 is my problem. I Cannot run Blend Torture test under VISTA 64bit. The SmallFFTs is hours stable.

Earlier, while benching Blend on XP, it was not stable at more than 333/667 (1:1 940Mhz) on 5-5-5-15 with my crucial on reasonable VDIMM. So I left 940Mhz 5-5-5-15 till the next long overnight reading/testing and Blend bench was OK on XP with 2.27 VDIMM.

On Vista 64bit I already tried P642414,P64v254 – after running the blend test, the memory usage raises up to 2GB maximum according to the resource monitor, and the PC completely freezes after a couple of seconds/half of a minute. I tried to lower the FSB – still completely freeze after a bit longer period – a minute or less .

I guess it might be a software problem, not the overclocking instability, or maybe there is a trick using prime under VISTA 64Bit I do not know about…

    Rest of my rig :

    LiteOn LH-20A1S 20X SATA
    Antec Trio 650W
    Antec Nine Hundred

    CPU VTT: 1.6v
    VDroop: Enabled
    Clockgen: 3.60v
    GTL: DISABLED (110/110/110)

Any help is appreciated. I do not want/need another OS on my PC right now, for that reason I did not install XP in dual boot.

    Best Wishes!

P.S. SRY for my poor English .

Thanks for sharing that empty Fortunate for you, but unfortunately for me I've already tried T2 Dispatch set to disabled. No difference.

I got my board back from RMA and finally set it up this weekend. I am running a QX6850 and my PWM temps are out of control. My pwm temps hit 80+ during prime95 then the board shuts down. Do I need to set-up the transpiper? Where is the best place to put a fan to cool this b**ch down? Here is a shot at 8x475(3.800ghz). Specs in sig ,any help would be appreciated.

Those temps are out of control mate How do they compare to your first board?

A fan over the NB and PWM would certainly help, but I'd be more tempted to take off the heatpipe assembly, and check whether the thermal paste has been applied properly.

Generally these boards seem to be very good in that department, but there's always the chance of a one off.

My chipset and PWM don't go above 50c and that's taking into account warm ambients.

I have been experiencing a weird problem with my board that has drove me nuts all weekend. I am assuming now It is just up to my ignorance after reading the past few pages. I will be the first to admit that this board is a little over my head when compared to my Ultra-D. I never expected so many different voltage options that have to be setup a particular and certain way in order to have the board run nicely. Sigh.

Anyhow, on to my problem if it is even easily answered. I was using the 333/800 divider option and had my Q6600 running 3.06ghz at stock volts which is 1.2750VID for my particular cpu. My 4GB Ballistix PC2-8500 was running at a palty 815mhz at 1.9v 4-4-4-12. Anyhow. I primed small FFT's for 11+h without an error at those speeds. I primed 10.5h Blend at those settings without an error and was able to run OCCT for 1h+ without error. The problem was when I cranked all settings to max in 3DMark06 and tried to loop it the system would either lockup or reboot itself without notice. This was anywhere from a couple minutes to 1.5h. I tried raising cpu Vcore to no help. I have no idea why I could test my cpu and ram without issues for 10h+ but running 3DMark06 would cause such an issue. Mind you, I could run the stock tests day and night, it was when I raised resolution and added AA/AF that the problems starting happening. Temps were in range, voltages were in range yet this still happened. Does anyone have any clue what I may need to change in order to get 3DMark06 to loop indefinitely with the same stability that my cpu and ram have had when being tested in any other manner? To be sure it wasn't my video card I loaded optimized defaults and looped 3DMark06 last night while at work for 10h with everything at stock and it was still running when I came home. That should prove that my video card is fine and it is either my cpu/ram or both causing the hard locks and reboots. Terribly sorry for the long winded post but it has really saddened me to come across such an annoying obstacle after having everything else run so smooth for the past week.

I don't understand the technicalities, but as far as I know the 8800s are very much connected to cpu performance, and therefore I'd guess the cpu's overclock.

Just a few things I do, and you may well already do the same, but there you go

    1. When installing new graphics drivers. I uninstall via properties/advanced/adapter/drivers. Reboot into safe mode, and run driver cleaner pro. This usually comes up with a few nvidia entries. Then I install the new driver. Current one is 163.71.

    2. I set fan speed to manual in Rivatuner, at about 95%.

    3. A tip from NCSA. I have a fan mounted at the back of my case, with a zalman fan support. This sucks air out the card's vents and certainly helps with temps.

Don't know if this is the root of your problem, but just a thought.

Hi bud. Thanks for the response. I really don't feel it is the videocard itself as running the system at stock produces no such problems where as overling the cpu and ram but still leaving the gpu at stock causes lockups and reboots only when looping 3DMark06 with settings cranked above defaults for the programs. I have my fan at 100%, I have a slot blower taking heat from under the card and I have a 120mm fan blowing air over the card from the front of the case. Temps are under 80c and it still does this unless I am on stock with the cpu and ram. Something is amiss but I have no clue what to change as the voltage options are plentiful and I am highly uneducated in what they do and what they should be set at. I can prime blend and small FFT's for 11h with the same settings that cause the system to hard lock and reboot under 3DMark06 looping.

Another strange problem I noticed that only seemed to surface after flashing the 9/13 bios. When entering the USB options menu under integrated peripherals it now locks up the bios with a bunch of lines and ascii squares going across the screen if I have my Sandisk Cruzer installed in the USB port of my system. This never happend under 8/10 nor 8/23. The stick is fine in windows and the bios can boot from it using ESC during post but for the life of me I cannot enter that menu of the bios without this happening. When the screen freezes this appears on left hand side of the screen towards the upper part of the center of the screen.

    _EN_CODE.BIN

I have no clue what this is but appears to be a module, or part of the bios itself that is going screwy with my usb stick installed while accessing this particular part of the menu? I could tell it was the stick cause at the bottom it lists what sticks you have installed and what type of boot you like to set whether it be auto/HDD/FDD. It doesn't list the type and halts just before doing so. I flashed the bios twice back to back and this is still occuring so perhaps this new bios has something screwy with certain types of USB sticks when accessing the USB menu under Integrated peripherals? Beats me. With my luck I am the only one noticing this anyhow.

    me! me!

i had issues with memtest, well, my mems--team xtreem pc8500 at 1066MHz, 2x1gig with dram timings on bios all set to auto and cpu settings are all stock except for using the 266/1066 divider and Vdimm set to 2.42V fails memtest 1.70 at test no.5,,

increasing Vdimm voltage though didn't solve the memory errors..

though I noticed that when I increase Vdimm voltage, it passes test no.5 for as many as two loops, after that it gets 2 errors per succeeding loop.. hmmmm...

Increasing north bridge voltage corrected this and was able to pass memtest v1.70 test no. 5 up to 10 loops..

I used test no.5 because out of all the tests in memtest, errors only occur at test no.5...

    hope this helps..

currently having memory divider problems though.. **sigh**

Thanks for the reply. My first board was DOA. Looks like I will be breaking down the heatpipe assembly tonight.

i also have one dfi lp ut p35 t2r, the board is very good and stable the only problem i have is my ram (cellshock pc8000 cas 4) they simply wont boot at lower voltages. i have them at 2,49v otherwise i have C1 error on lcd post screen.

the max fsb i reached 580with an E6750 on air. the cellshock dont want to work 600 1:1. maybe next month iŽll buy some new ddr2
I have the same Cellshocks, PC8000 cas4, and I just installed this board. Do you mean that they will not boot at stock speeds? My Cellshocks, no matter what board, always seem to boot as PC6400 and at low voltages (1.8). How did the memory behave on other boards?

Do I need to set-up the transpiper? Where is the best place to put a fan to cool this b**ch down? Here is a shot at 8x475(3.800ghz). Specs in sig ,any help would be appreciated.
Well on my NB and my PWM I just brought a hard drive cooler and removed the two 40mm fans out of it, I then screwed one to the heatsink on the PWM's and another blows through the fins on the NB heatsink, for 40mm fans they are do an excellent job, especially compared to yours, and completely quiet.

if i trie with only one dimm it boots at 1,8v two dimms c1 error, simply wont post any image.

so i have to place only a dimm et e voltage to 2,49v and shut down, place again de second dimm and boot

i had the same trouble with evga 680i and dfi 680i sli lt. but this time i think my ram is ed so iam going to by cheaper ram but this time 4gbs

If you had this issue using the same rame with three differnt boards it's time to get some other ram (RMA).
