Depends on how much you appreciate sound quality. You can buy a cheap low end X-Fi X-Music or others for around $70 these days. Will give you sound but not very high quality. You get what you pay for. I know many guys who tossed Creative X-fi for the Prelude and never looked back. The sound quality is amazing. Talk to people who own the Prelude.
