No, Im testing the CPU atm; all I have adjusted in the bios is vcore to 1.4v. I wasnt happy with the temperatures at 350fsb x 9 (vcore 1.4v+), since the ambient is cool atm; and its going to get hot for summer. I Set it to 333 x 9, 2:3 memory 500Mhz; 8 hours orthos stable so far.








Tried 400fsb with +0.02 on Mch(northbridge) and +0.02 on Vfsb and no post. Possibly a cpu fsb wall as I have a 200fsb default cpu.

Might strip it down and take the crazy cool off tomorrow to fit my xp-120; maybe bend a few northbridge fins in the process. Ill try a cpu fsb mod if Ive got some conductive ink left.

Any program to monitor Mch and Vfsb voltage? I can see vcore, vdimm (easy tune center) not much else. I cant see what values the mobo sets when I set it to the auto overclock voltages and there is no voltage monitor in bios. All I know is that vcore is set to 1.4v when engaging auto overclock voltages.

So i dropped to 2GB of ram still wasn't able to take it higher than 525MHz FSB, so it likely is a CPU FSB limit.

525MHz is a hard limit for me, too...I think there may be more to this than just a CPU FSB wall.

Hello People,

So I recently got my PC back (phase system killed the evga 680i....more like my git of an older bro did but nonetheless) and have a P35DQ6 as well.

Currently the spec's are: QX6800, thermalright 120extreme 2x120mm fans at 1600rpms (push/pull), corsair PC8888 2GB RAM and a new shiny 8800ultra, enermax 1Kw psu, 2x150 raps r0.

I managed to get set the manual settings in the bios but have like no idea what to do after that. I'm coming from the 680i mobo's...the settings and names on this mobo is like...lost.

Few things...set my DDR overvolts to +0.60 which means the ram is running at 2.4v right? Also RAM is running at 1066 (auto bios setting for multi).

Few things totally bug me...no program will show what the RAM voltage is, and so totally hate this bios...found the 680i so much easier.

Anyways...until I get time to put the phase system into action...I wanna get use to the bios settings, etc. So can someone write out the expected BIOS settings and the things I need to look out for? I know the voltage side of things (gits made it so hard...gigagits) so please let me know.

Oh...sry for hijacking this thread. It seems u people actually have clue what you are doing so er...sry...but please help me!

Speedfan will show you the RAM voltages for these boards, it seems to be rather accurate as well.

That is correct regarding the RAM voltage, just start at 1.8v which is JEDEC specs and add from there.

If you have unexplained BSODS or Memtest shows errors when running RAM at 8500 speeds then you should try "Option 2" under the MIT -> RAM DLL option setting. Some people haven't needed to, but it was a must for me as even at stock the RAM wasn't stable on Option 1 which is default.

When I start speedfan I get this IT8712F message...do I need to config anything in addition in SFN?

Resetting the cmos on this mobo is LIKE SOOOOOO HARD....but eventually got it done. The thing was that the ram settings where just not right and well...got too trigger happy.

Is anyone running the DQ6 with the corsair 8s? Someone must be...if you are can please please....pretty please with a cherry on top...(er....)...post your bios settings because I just cant get it stable.

Other than the OCing stuff I am starting to dig this mobo. It just feels really stable and if something is wrong it tries its best to carry on (unlike some previous mobos...they just died bios-cally). Might not give me the confidence the SLI-DR did (my fave mobo so far and it look pretty-ish as well) but its good enough.

I guess no-one hear watches Kdramas (S.Korean) but if u wanna give it a go u have to watch resurrection (d-addicts) and ooo....the devil is like sooooo awesome. Still watching jumong....another 20 epis left but totally awesome series...sry...ot.t....OK peeps...so please someone help me? Oh and can someone like tell me what game demo thing I can download to see what the 8800ultra can do (got a dell 3007 but usually play all my games in windows - as in not-full screen so I can do other stuff at the same time). Just wanna see some eye candy really. Ah...3dmark...wait...thats kinda of a no-no...I know I am not gonna be happy with the score and junk the mobo for another 88ulti and most likely a striker of in9 and wait for nvidiots to release the next chip set. Also....what is with those crysis gits....taking sooo long to make that game. Got my £1200 ready for gpu upgrade for crysis....totally got to play that on the 30" all maxed out....its like an unwritten rule...ok.....the end.

That's a normal message, just ignore it. You don't need to configure anything pre-se, but if you click the link in my sig you can see how I configured mine to be more useful... I renamed the RAM voltage, removed the fan controls since I don't use them, and the same for a few other readings that were bogus.

On my Q6600 I'm only able to hit 460 x 9 bootable (not 100% stable tho)

I can do 450 x 9 solid tho.

Thats not maxing out any of the MCH, or FSB settings tho. Do these help if you have active cooling on this heat pipe crap?

Yeah, I was the same way when coming from a EVGA 680I It was SOOOO easy.

High Speed DRAM DLL setting can be changed to option 2 if stability problems on option 1 (read somewhere that memory speeds over 1000 more likely to require option 2 in some cases, dont know any more than that, or even if that is correct, nothing in the manual)

only cpu has actual voltages listed, vdimm on auto may or may not give your memory the correct voltage, default when increasing is 1.8 + whatever you add (note auto may or may not set to 1.8) NB and FSB just have to use + whatever, no real voltages in bios. Good performing board, but BIOS needs updated to the 21st century (or my next board will be a diff brand)

one other note, if you use Bios F5 or F6 the memory controller is better, performance on memset is 7 instead of 11, which on my computer/settings means sisoft sandra bandwidth 7700 instead of 7100 on F4. Also on F5 and F6 had to change pcie to 105 and add +.05 to get my graphics card back to 16x when OC(read last posts on p35dq6 bios threads)

ok My cpu was stable at 3930mhz on my 680i dfi board. I know my cpu is not the problem. My problem is that I do not know the voltage requirements for the NB or FSB for 434-440 x9 FSB.
Also once I run orthos the systems reboots itself and on the health status sub menu from top to bottom the DDR18V is showing Fail. My voltage is +35 for vdimm. what could be a good starting point for NB and FSB volts for my desire speeds. I'm running my pc8500 micron chips under their stocks speeds (860-880mhz).

No reason to laugh as I was running my DFI 680I lt in 1t command and it was faster than 2t command by a long shot. again I'm coming from a different chipset/mb.
